Thank you for summarising the legend of Tippu Sultan. I am from Mysore and grew up reading history books of the heroic Tippu Sultan which we have been proud of. In the last decade, I have been disheartened and saddened to see people around me succumbing to the distorted History that portrays him as evil who killed Hindus and Christians- a false story created to demonise him. It would be good if you could clear these fake stories around him, and provide a contextual understanding of his deeds. All of us should do our best to revive our actual history and teach this to the generations to come.
Before labelling something as 'false stories' please do some research. Just google the following things - 1. Tipu Sultan sword inscription - the inscription on his sword says that his it has been made for the destruction of disbelievers. Disbelievers is anyone who does not believe in Allah 2. Tipu Sultans letter to badrus zaman khan - this is tipu's letter to his military officer. There he boasts about how he has converted 4 lakh hindus from Malabar and more from Calicut. There are other records as well which show how he forcefully converted or massacred hindus and christians. If you are willing to accept the truth, just google the things i mentioned, there's a lot of evidence out there. If not just be happy with the fake stories. All the best to you!

Dear Ashok Kumar ji, Thank you immensely for your detailed indepth research, probing and true impartial presentation of the Sher-E-Mysore Tippu Sultan. There were, and are still some varied, crazy, distorted stories of him running rampant. He is often described as a staunch Muslim fanatic and ruler, always troubling and persecuting Hindus anc Christians alike. He was deemed as a terror, an evil being born to persecute people of other faiths than Islam. I was very pleased to learn that he rebuilt broken down Hindu temples, and employed Hindu people in his army and government. Very detailed insight you have presented, but I feel with the time limitations, you could not present his entire life history. Could you please present his life in 2/3 parts so that he is understood fully and comprehensively. Finally, my sincere, heartfelt thanks and gratitude to you for this detailed presentation.
