It's such a sad misconception that many people think soldiers can't be destroyed. Can't panic or be scared. They're only humans as well who happened to have had rigorous training for extreme calamities but nonetheless, if it gets too much for their mind and body, they can get unhinged. Soldiers are trained to be strong and brave, but it doesn't mean they aren't allowed to be scared. Soldiers are trained to be calm and rational all the time especially in wars and calamities but it doesn't mean they won't panic, especially the new ones. They're humans who have gone through more than what some more humans go through everyday. They train hard all the time and once deployed, they get separated from their families and loved ones. On their deployment, depending on where and what the situation is, they can encounter many tragedies such as loosing a friend, a comrade, or a leader. In these situations, they can also experience extreme hunger and thirst and lack of shelter. They've been trained for this, but that's also like saying how you tell yourself to stop your cravings and can sometimes be successful but can't deny that underlying want still.
