Enjoyed your video, we farm about 2100 acres in Ky. This video reminded me of how it was back in the 70's, a real good time to be growing up!! I bet most of those tractors are still running too..
A brand new Jeep CJ5 with a manual transmission and heavy duty cooling system cost $7800 in 1978. I almost bought one at Dick Lohers AMC dealership in Portage, Michigan.
ha ha, using a corn picker, call us old fashioned but we've used a 1970 New Idea corn picker just like one in the video to pick 200 acres of ear corn for cattle feed since it was new in 1970.
Great piece of farming history. Very neat to see International Harvester sweet corn pickers in action. Thank you for sharing this great video.

Nice International Loadstar truck.
A wonderful video! What a wonderful time that was. A beautiful farm in marvellous surronding and great machinery! Is this farm still in operation?
We used to have that the same kind of gehl chopper when I was a kid, I loved the scream it used to make as is chopped up the corn
At the 2:18 mark it appears that a woman is driving the Sweetcorn picker. You didn't see much of that back then.
Молодец Янкі,супер.

Does that sweet corn snapper still exist? I have a 234 as well. I would be your new best friend if it was for sale. 🤓🙏
Those pickers were all owned by the canning companies. They probably scrapped them all. They went with New Idea Uni-Systems after that.
