1. wrong juice vg/pg ratio for tank type. 2, faulty o rings. 3 wrong airflow setting when you topped it up. 4. wrong setting for the coil on your mod (as in wattage or temp). saved you 8 mins. you're welcome
Great video big Jake, exceptional info. I found faulty seal on bottom of the RBA deck of my SMOK Spirals Plus tank. Changed out the "' o" ring for a new one. No leaking after that. My Vandy Vape Kylin V2 tank leaked once when I changed from the 2 ml glass up to the 6 ml glass. The "o" ring on chimney extension was cut from a very small burr in the thread. Burr was removed using ultra fine point splinter needle tip and tweezers. Wiped clean with small bit cloth, put new "o" from the spare parts bag and no leaks since then. All my other tanks I had since then I've pulled apart before juicing up and found some to have been assembled loosely. Once put back together and tightened up no leaks from them. Had a tank given to me by one guy at work who vapes also, his tank was leaking, found out problem. He had over tightened the coil into base thus squashing the shit out of the "o" ring seal and cutting it in one spot. That's why his leaked out the bottom airflow slots. Replaced "o" ring and put together but not with " gorilla force " and his tank don't leak now. Love and enjoy watching your videos man, learning heaps about different mods, juices, tanks. Down to earth and honest reviews you have, excellent work man. Best regards from an Aussie down under. Ps: also noticed atmospheric pressure will have an effect on tank seals especially when you go below 500 m vertical below the surface like I do for my job in western Australia as a gold miner heavy machine operator. (Wrapping tissues around devices and constantly wiping my hands) My present device is a good smoke but it leaks like a sieve. Now I've just upped my output and PRESTO, no leak. Thank you soooo much.

When I first started vaping in 2012, tanks were really bad and leaked all the time. Now I typically use sub with mesh and is so much better for flavor, but the main thing is that there aren't any eaking issues with them and has been great that way
Great vid, I use the ijust 2 5.5ml tank and 0.3ohm coil which recommends 30-80W but I use 14-20watt depending on which mod I'm using. I've been using the same tank an coils an in the last 6 months I've had 3 leaks. So I'm happy with that What's been told in this video is just some of the vital info needed. If your tank has been warm but not vaped I recommend gently shake the tank an I mean gentle, shake too hard an it will leak. This has worked for me Happy vaping

Ever since I started using the Kanger Sub-Tank series with the RBA atomizer I've had no leaking problems. I just cut the wick a little longer and stuff the extra down by the juice holes. At 0.6 ohms I can vape at 16 to 20 watts with nice flavor and vapor. (Not cloud contest vapor but good everyday vapor.) I don't get burnt hits and I also don't go through batteries and e-liquid so fast. Try it you might like it.

I was sold a Falcon tank that leaked. Took it apart and there was no O-ring on the coil. Put it back together and now it works perfect! I only paid $16.50 for it! 😝💨💨💨💨
I vape at the lowest end of my coil. I use the Smok Spirals tank, and usually hang out at 18/19 watts for comfort, when the range is 18-35 watts. Thats probably my problem, along with not using the vape everyday 😁. My juice is "max VG" (probably like 80 VG at least) so I'm good on that front.
Your thumbnail showed the Kanger Tech tank. My first real tank was that one. I still use it kinda like my back up but boy did I have leaking problems with that one. Solved many of them but it still leaks, just not as much.
Very good advise. Also might suggest learning a bit of ohms law, or at best use calculator and make sure your device can supply the impedence of the coil. I am in process of making a video on this with the smok Cloud Beast (12 series)
I am running the ESP 30 watt Aspire Mod with the Melo III sub ohm tank with 0.5 ohm coils that are recommended at 30 to 60 watts of power. However when i run my ESP 30w at max 30 watts power it tends to be a hot hit and a burnt hit if i pull on it too long. It seems to run much smoother at 20 watts. Do you or anyone know why this is the case considering my recommended wattage for these coils are 30 to 60 watts?
Love this vid - very helpful! I have a VooPoo drag baby mod and it has no adjustable wattage, it also uses a pnp style coil - every 3rd or so refill I end up with a full tank leak. I’m new to this style of vape and love this one when it works but it’s really frustrating to do so much clean up every week! It seems like there is a magic process to get it perfect but I’m at a loss of what it is and the videos on TH-cam for my mod are all unboxing vids which I abhor. Any advice on what I could do?

Mostly nonsense. VG/PG makes no sense. Having a less viscous juice still shouldn't cause it to leak if the tank is mechanically sound. And as dude even says in the video, it's gonna get more fluid (less viscous) with heat anyway. If your tank leaks simply because the juice gets thin, it's a bad design. You should be able to fill a good tank with water and not have it leak...don't though. Some dickheads even vape ethanol, which is extremely fluid. A lot of coils are designed with a central airflow port that's concentric to the heating/wicking elements of the coils, so it's a good idea to store your tanks upright so as not to allow juice from the wicks to flow into the core, which is what actually causes leaking through the airflow ports. But still this can be addressed by design of the air intake within the coil. wattage doesn't make sense for the same reason; even if you fail to vaporize the juice it shouldn't leak, it should just stay on the wick. When your coils aren't activated they're not vaporizing, and your tank still shouldn't just leak while it's sitting there even though the wicks stay saturated. So it shouldn't even leak if you pull on it without heating. Avoiding positive pressure in the tank when filling is worthwhile (shut the air intakes when you fill) because a lot of coils have tight tolerances (small distances between the air intake and the wick) and you can in effect force juice retrograde through the air intake. I still think this is bad design, but it happens in tanks/coils that are otherwise decent. Check your o-rings and your fittings and if everything is as it should be, your tank shouldn't leak unless it and/or the coils are poorly designed. If adjusting the viscosity of your juice "causes" you to leak, you're already leaking and it's just causing it to leak faster.
This is so true i have a smok mag 225w and it leaks with thin juice or when i leave it in the sun. I am using Big Bottle co. And at first it leaked bit now it is not leaking using tfv12 Q4 at 65.5w.

I have a Smok Mag P3 I've tried several different could but always seem to have a spitting coil after the 2nd or 3rd day of using that coil. So I thought over saturation. So for example if my coil says 82 160 I run it at 120 it says best at 120. Still spits back hot juice at me. I tried running it a little bit higher and a little bit lower, I still have this problem. The guys at the vape store... And I've tried several different stores, can't figure it out. It's really starting to take the joy of vaping out of me. I've been using fruit monster, keep it 100, and killer custard juices. Any ideas or comments much appreciated! Thanks!

I have the baby beast brother, and it’s leaking from the TOP! From the air flow and the mouth piece. I bought it and tried using it right away, settings are set right and everything seems to be tight!! I called the place I got it, they weren’t much help. Hello, I am new to vaping so could really use some great advice🤓. Bought new smoke t-priv mid December and am experiencing frequent leakage and now mod is acting up bad! Store rep tells me they unfortunately don't cover damage that might be caused from a leakage😔. Love vaping but extremely annoyed by a supposedly good quality vape🤦♀️. gatedd1 Sub ohm, Smok Alien mod, with Frogman tank - Vaptio/Vivakita, I prefer the 0.4 coils for flavour and awesome cloud production, for me in the UK we are stuck with 2ml 😔 but they do a 5ml I believe, tbh I have purchased so many tanks quoting flavour this/vapour that and I have Tfv12, v8 + baby, Azeroth rta, Freemax rta, OBS engine, Mage rta, Aspire Cleitos, Freemax Starre Pure all tanks listed there apart from two I had leaking problems with at some point, the two I didn't were top airflow, granted some I have listed are rta (build and wick your own coils) but after purchasing all these and messing with them for yrs/months I came across the Frogman tank not hearing anything about it and thought fuck ill buy that it looks cool and I have had no leaking at all, the single coil 0.4 ohm gave me the best flavour (apart from rta) for quick stock coil install etc from any of the tanks mentioned with no leak hassle or flavoulessnessses lol The rta/rba/rdta (build and wick your own coils) I couldn't be bothered with, too much hassle. So for me I love the Smok Alien mod (red and black) with the frogman tank from Vaptio/Vivakita (black tank, red glass its pretty cool) No leaking and for stock coils 0.4 ohm for best flavour/vapour production! 😊
Aspen Dronenburg If your tank is routinely leaking, it's best to try and figure out why, as that's not normal. That said, the best way to stop leaking while in the pocket is to either close your juice flow control while carrying it or, if you don't have juice flow control, to close off your air flow control. The airflow control won't necessarily stop all leaking, but should mitigate the effect well enough to not gunk up your pocket with juice
Here's a great reason for why your tank leaks: it's a rebuildable tank. I've had no luck with them. They leak everywhere, and they make less vapor and less flavor than my screw in freemax tank.
Jeffrey Cheng I think because the specific ones he mentioned are made in China. Besides, they’re probably made by machines and the workers there just maintain those machines and switch them on/off. Machines will screw up sometimes wherever things are made by them, of course. It certainly isn’t always in China.
I have aspire tips and it leaks horrible and I hate it I even bought new and nope won't stop leak and ruined and made my mod break open even since was glue and it was horrible
Good video! But your motor oil analogy is not correct. When you watch your mechanic changing your oil it is usually still warm and therefore less viscous. ...except for modern fully synthetic oil where you can hardly tell a difference at all.

have had a few issues like these in the last month I have been vaping. am completely nicotine free after 30 plus years of a pack a day thanks to my vape. the upside outweighs the issues so am very happy.
It’s crazy because every time I go to replace the coil it happens but after doing it a couple of times I finally got a tight seal on it. It was just user error thanks for the video

Never trust that initial assembly. There is always a gasket missing or damaged 😒

I got a tfv16 lite yesterday hasn't stopped leaking I can see the juice pour out once I put it in after 5 mins I might return it

So for me I love the Smok Alien mod (red and black) with the frogman tank from Vaptio/Vivakita (black tank, red glass its pretty cool) No leaking and for stock coils 0.4 ohm for best flavour/vapour production! 😊

If your tank is routinely leaking, it's best to try and figure out why, as that's not normal.
That said, the best way to stop leaking while in the pocket is to either close your juice flow control while carrying it or, if you don't have juice flow control, to close off your air flow control.
The airflow control won't necessarily stop all leaking, but should mitigate the effect well enough to not gunk up your pocket with juice
Try something like a veco tank from vaporesso. Zero leaks for me cause top airflow :D

Here's a great reason for why your tank leaks: it's a rebuildable tank. I've had no luck with them. They leak everywhere, and they make less vapor and less flavor than my screw in freemax tank.

Jeffrey Cheng I think because the specific ones he mentioned are made in China. Besides, they’re probably made by machines and the workers there just maintain those machines and switch them on/off. Machines will screw up sometimes wherever things are made by them, of course. It certainly isn’t always in China.

But your motor oil analogy is not correct. When you watch your mechanic changing your oil it is usually still warm and therefore less viscous. ...except for modern fully synthetic oil where you can hardly tell a difference at all.
