I want to know when we as a nation can send people into space and exhibit other ingenuity, why can't we come up with a permanent solution for the homeless problem in this country. We need to quit dicking around and figure it out and make it happen! There have always been poor unfortunates throughout history and they weren't necessarily camping around in tents all around towns. Our homeless problem is out of control. It needs to stop by way of finding permanent solutions to help these people out and get them back on their feet again; and if they can't ever take care of themselves, then they need permanent housing of some kind. Maybe they won't like it, but tough.

There will never not be homeless. Many are happy that way and don’t want anymore help then the monthly food stamps and cash aid they get. That’s why when they went out and offered services to thousands of homeless only 1 or 2 used the services. Everyone else was fine and didn’t need any help.

I agree rents have gone up relatively. But it's not that crazy. In the end even if it was in line with wages, $0 is still $0 and even further from the rising standard. I know there is this conspiracy theory that these services don't do the work bc of the problem is solved then the money stops flowing. But at this point there is plenty work to be done without running out. We just need a cumbaya moment that we probably need to implement some kind of mandated community service bc no one thinks it's their job, or that they are paid enough, or that it's simply hopeless to roll up sleeves. Plus the taxes are already high and aren't enough to fund these programs....again bc they have trouble finding the right employees. Like who here would even shake a homeless guy's hands? How much money do you want to give therapy to a dangerous mentally ill drug addict? But if there are more of us volunteering (or mandated) to help in a concerted effort, maybe it won't be as risky or nasty.

Sacramento has been a dump since the 1980s, it really needs to change. I don't blame the leaders like this high priced lawyer. I know that the parenting in this area is the root cause. Parents simply do not care about raising decent human beings. If this lawyer really wants to address this problem he needs to look at parenting because all of this starts at home .

the core culprit of homeless isn't to look at the homeless. but it is to find the other things that can be done. build more housing boost the industries that gather materials for housing speed up education process for the trades to build housing boost ways people especially homeless people can get into those trades. have the homeless people build homes. etc. deregulate the housing industry make it easier to build houses. deregulate sale of land instead of acting like land nazi's most of california is empty land that could using housing to built on it, there is nothing sacred or special about that land all it is is wasteland not being used for housing that homeless neeed. small piece of land easily can cost half a million, this is just simply not right govt needs to come up with solutions to allow more free flow of this and not allow price walls to shut everything down.

@@1Up_jp i've lived in california my whole and what u say simply isn't true and ill tell you hard details as of why i feel that way.
the govt agencies responsible for helping house homeless is useless, they do not do their job. there is long lines and they genuinely don't help many people who need help.
meanwhile the govt agencies like bureau of indian affairs is very rapid at helping people with housing if the people say they are a specific genetic ethnicity as the qualifying factor. yes i got denied housing because of ethnicity because of govt agencies like this one. if u notice most of the homeless in california is non-latin. with a few exceptions.
lastly. pieces of land in not even nice areas could easily cost half a million prices walls away beyond reasonable people can afford. the only people buying it is high govt or people from high govt of outside countries who use cross bordering as a way to do fraud and launder money.
it's become anticompetitive. ordinary people are not served they breaching antitrust laws.
also. there is tribal land without rules of regular laws, they are impune, also they don't pay taxes, and they get alot of aid from govt. but the regulation in these zones allows for money laundering. and casino's are one of the methods for money laundering. turning dirty money into clean money, and well. they happen to fall onto deregulated zones impune of federal law. why is this? it's a scheme to try to avoid being punished for these crimes and criminal behavior. of course people doing crimes would try to not be held accountable or liable for the things they do.
all the sectors responsible for bringing us the materials for housing, are restricting production and job growth. yes this too harms the general public and violates antitrust laws.
all the jobs for building houses alot goes into building a house alot of time people spend to learn how to do it. but hte people with money printers get a house click of button. and ordinary people are priced out of market. they will be housed not the dude working as a trucker who needs to sleep in the truck to survive. or someone forced into joining the military because they can't pay for costs at home. etc. instead of build more housing people are pigeon holed into dnagerous and unhealthy situations.
