  • Cutting down 3 tall Mountain Ash measuring 60 metres or 200 feet each as measured by the drone. The trees were cut down as they had many branch failures and were in close proximity to houses. I was the contract climber working for Tom at Treetek and Leighroy the legend was on ropes!
    We use ProofSafe to manage our safety compliance, they've been really supportive and they know the Arb industry -

    Thanks to Karo for the drone footage

    I'm a climbing arborist with40 years experience and this guy is phenomenal his block are timed perfect landing flat. I use the same xp husky saw excellent high revving fast cutting machine for superior control.the trees look like giant eucalyptus trees is this in Australia. I'm in north Florida pines commonly reach 105 feet the tallest I have climbed was 130 plus estimated with 200 foot climbing rope.

    • @joshuatootell3239
      @joshuatootell3239 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Landing big blocks flat is done by using 1/5 rule. Normal 45% scarf, over 50% of the way in (for centre of gravity) and 1/5 of the height of the TREE to the drop zone. I.e if you have a 100 foot TREE then you would take a 20 foot section. And then the next block will be 1/5th of 80 etc. (The rule doesn't seem to be timber dependant and the angle of the scarf and how big it is will change the out come, so 1/5th, 50% of the way in with the scarf and 45% top cut flat bottom scarf.) Works Every time.
