      You sir are a legend. My house turned into a battle ground for gangs at night. So I learned to confront violence hate and anger. After I dealt with this for a year and secured my property I decided to train with my katana because it was always with me during that difficult time. Some people called me a loser for practicing with a tree. 😂 I always thought they never knew what actually happened while they were sleeping 😴

  • @drpepper694
    @drpepper694 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Just remember all of the power and momentum comes from the left hand.
    And also, to instill good muscle memory, as you only fight how you train in a match/battle/duel, try to incorporate some kind of footwork simultaneously during practice swings.
    The enemy will never just be in striking range. You have to earn it by stepping/lunging/charging in. Which is why I strongly recommend incorporating any kind of distance closing footwork into drills so it becomes second nature to close in while attacking.

      @@JonahsWail oh. I'd get absolutely chopped into pieces but in about 3 years, i would probably just get severely sliced and diced but in 6 years, I'd be able to block a few strikes before getting destroyed....but in 10 years, i might be able to inflict a scratch on him before looking like an onion that chef Ramsey just got finished with....but in 13 years, it might be a good duel...so.... in time my friend, in time

      Daniel Richerson I’ll throw my lot in too after I, A - learn how to wield a long sword, and B - learn how to be a 250 pound medieval warrior lord.

    Any ideas for what to use for the "heavy sword" part ? I have a standard nylon longsword from Blackfencer but that just weighs 1.3 kg.

      No prob...its also about the movement and mobility...stengthening is just one aspect :)

    hi Bjorn, thank for the wonderful drill video. I have a question- if you can answer. When you are doing side rotation movement, it seems you are twisting hips as well. Would this hip movement for adding blow impact or changing balance? Thanks!!

    •  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Esso Cat Hey :) Hip movement is especially to add power with your full body. On the other hand it is mandatory when there is no time for a step. Otherwise you came in a very awkward position.

    I did this with a 8kg (20 lbs) weighted foam greatsword. My forearms burn, my arms hate me, and I feel like I can swing a greatsword but it requires a lot out of me and a lot of devotion and training. I can swing kinda fast, just not extremely fast yet. When I can swing it like it’s nothing, then I’ve evolved to the next level.

      Alright, you sent this 6 months ago surely now you have become Guts level of body strength. That is how it works right? Just not the same life-threatening, crap and harsh environment but still.

      Assumed 8kg is honestly so heavy that 6 months is enough with a good amount of calories to reach Guts level of body strength.@@gabrielpagliusoarsuffi
      Though what do I know lmao, I don't wield anything that weighs 8kg like a sword.

    Hi am i the only one that does strong strikes in next way ( midllehau stab zwerch ) ( overhau stab zwerch ) ( high overhau stab zwerch ) ( stab zwerch underhau ) (stab zwerch close overhau ) and repeat this combinations about 5 times each. Then defense and hits after defense. Then stabs ( 30 ). Close combat ( 40. And this is 3. stage of my average training that has 5 stages. On Saturday i do superhard training and on Sunday i focus on defenses. Also i make 1 or 2 day breaks per week but it is usually 1 day per week with no training.
