    This is a fun one that for some reason my textbook didn't explain! So far we haven't seen an internal proton attack by a carbanion anywhere else😯! Thank you Prof. Victor

      Swern oxidation is a fairly common reaction nowadays, at least in the US curriculum. But since the mechanism is quite involved, many instructors tend to skip it and treat it as some “magic box” in their classes.
