Esdeath is easily the most misunderstood character of the anime(Aka me Ga Kill). Yes she is sadistic and wicked and fucking brutal, but she literally comes from a village who's entire lives is literally kill or be killed. She hasn't been exposed to much else before the Capital and even her own father in her flashback was worried she was missing something due to the life she was exposed to. Esdeath is the perfect example of Nature vs Nurture. Do you behave the way you do due to how you are internally(Nature or doing so cause that's how you really are inside) or because of how you were raised(nurtured and raised into it). Most of what she does and says is because of how she was raised. Yes she does enjoy it, but she isn't only sadistic and crazy. It's just the world is idolized as the strong prevails and anyone considered weak is Shamed, ignored, or even killed (like in our world). Esdeath DOES care, it's just she's a wolf that spent most of her time knawing away with her teeth full of prey and isn't really seen caring for her cub in fear of being seen "Weak". She wants what anyone wants( live a life you can be proud of and leave behind a legacy) and this asmr only proves it. She's either warm and caring and even gentle if she let's herself, or cold and sadistic (but not entirely in nature). Her and Aka me are my all time waifus due to how similar but different they are. Like a pair of twins where what one twin does, the other does the opposite kinda thing. Bless you for this asmr Chill😍
