Algeria before Islam was not really a Christian land. Christianity penetrated some parts of the north of the country during the time of the Romans ; and disappeared with the fall of the Roman Empire in Africa. There is almost no trace of Christianity in Algerian culture, nor in the myths or legends of this people. The little that we find is not more than the number of myths and legends of paganism.
I can say that before Islam, Algerians were paganists.
Among the traces of Christianity that remain is the fact that Algerians pay great attention to bread. When they find a piece of bread on the ground, they pick it up from the ground, kiss it and pass it over the forehead. finally they put it away from passers-by.
Among the traces of paganism: when Algerian children lose a tooth, they throw it in the direction of the sun, saying: "O sun! Take the donkey's tooth and give me a gazelle's tooth."

It is not rational pose dear, Algeria was know as Numidian kingdom or Barbaria and its border expanded to include Moroco and Tunisia, Mali, Lybia and Niger and some part of Egypts, the most ancient draws are on south Algeria in Tassili Nadjer "Sefar" it is 30k year BC perhaps there were Paganism perhaps Allah send them prophet we don't know, but when we come to Numidian kingdom which is 202 BC there were jews who comes with Phonecians for trade and there were a large part become jews , that was even before Roman empire, then when roman empire Algeria adapt Christianity, St Augustine which is a famous Christian philosopher born in Thagast which is Souk Ahras now (province in east Algeria) and he is a sign of Amazigh(Berber) finally we become muslims after muslims open the north Africa , hope the point is clear
