Hi Andrew. Almost anywhere on the Georges offers a variety of different locations. If it purely flats you are after, then Towra, Woolooware Bay, Kogarah Bay and Oyster Bay are good starting areas.
Nothing to bust off 3lb leader on the flats? What about when Mrs flathead swallows your crankbait ? I have the same net you have but got a replacement deeper mesh pocket for flathead 😉
Ha ha, well yes, that can happen (and has happened HEAPS of times). I meant obstacles like rocks and snags. Net already wrapped and under the tree too!
@@vinceveloce9897 it really does depend on the lure. The Piccolos are a compact and fairly heavy lure which helps immensely, but if I was casting a small Gladiator Bingo, I'd be getting between 15-20m.
Nice session mate!
Thanks Steve. I feel another session is due...
Can’t beat a feed of flathead and whiting! Great video and enjoy the feed mate.
Cheers Abz. They were delicious!
Good session there Carl. Thanks for sharing
Cheers James, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Thankyou for taking some of those crank stealing pests from the system mate 😁
Ha ha. You're welcome, it's a dirty job but someone's got to do it. 😎
Well done. What leader knot do you use with light line.
G'day Bob. I use a uni knot to connect to terminal tackle (or a loop knot for surface lures) and an FG knot to connect braid to leader.
Great video - I’m brand new to kayaking in Georges river and would love some advice on a good starting area that I can keep the fish. Thanks!

Hi Carl, I would have thought that trolling a couple of lures would work well there?
Howdy Mal. Trolling definitely does work but I tend to cast and retrieve, as that is the only option we have in tournaments.
You definitely need a bigger net
Letter sent to Santa already...
How far do you think you're casting those hardbodies out?
G'day Vince. 25-30m, maybe up to 40m with the wind behind me.
@@CarlDubois Wow... ok I'm lucky if I'm getting 20m.
I enjoy your vids keep them coming.
