  • In this week’s Car Review, our featured car is Nissan’s entry to the midsize SUV segment. With its exterior that has a modern take while staying true to Nissan’s tradition, its interior that is comfortable and spacious enough for seven people, plus the array of Nissan Intelligent Mobility features that it comes with-the Nissan Terra is definitely a car to look out for. Find out why. Watch this.
What we have here is the Nissan Terra VL 4x2 7 AT variant.
As usual, let’s start with the powertrain.
Under the hood of the Terra is a 2.5 YD25 DDTi inline-4 cylinder diesel engine that gives out 190 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. Since the Terra we have here is the 4x2 VL variant, it is mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission with manual mode.
For the suspension, the Terra uses an Independent Double-Wishbone with Coil Spring and Stabilizer Bar at the front and a Multi-5-Link with Stabilizer Bar at the rear. This suspension setup provides passengers the comfort they need when passing through road imperfections.
Our next stop: the exterior and interior.
When it comes to Terra’s design, one can instantly tell that its look doesn’t veer away from the Navara. Their hood, the fenders, and the character lines almost look the same. But what define Terra’s exterior are the LED headlamps with Styled LED Position Lamp, with Auto-On/Off and Follow-Me-Home Functions, and the Daytime Running Lights. Moreover, the 18-inch alloy wheels further add character to the car.
Meanwhile, inside the Terra, the seats are wrapped in leather, providing that elegant and cozy vibes all over. Additionally, the Terra can fit up to seven people in its spacious space. Whether you’re with your family or friends, you can expect utmost comfort aboard the Terra, and because the seats are what make it extra special. The driver’s seat comes equipped with an 8-Way Power Adjust with Power Adjust Lumbar Function, while the second row folds and tumbles in one motion, thanks to the 1-Touch Remote Fold and Tumble Seats.
For additional cargo space, the Terra’s flat-folding seats can easily be configured according to your load, making it flexible and convenient for all kinds of travel.
Moreover, for additional comfort and convenience, the Terra has a total of 14 cup holders which could be found in every corner of the car.
The technologies that are available in the Terra are also one of the highlights of this car. Air-conditioning would not be a problem with this car, as it is equipped with the Dual-Zone Automatic Temperature Control that benefits for the passengers in front, while there’s the rear seat air-conditioning with personal vents to provide cool air for the rest of the passengers.
The Terra also has a reliable infotainment system consisting of a 7-inch Capacitive Touchscreen Display Audio with Seamless Smartphone Integration, WiFi, Tuner, USB, iPod, Bluetooth, Navi-Ready App, and Video Playback Functions. Audio is enjoyable through 6 speakers.
There’s even an 11-inch Flip-Down Rear Entertainment System that adds fun to road trips.
However, with all these features, there’s one thing that makes the Terra a dream midsize SUV when it comes to having advanced technologies: the Nissan Intelligent Mobility.
With this brand’s advanced technology, the Terra is equipped with Blind Spot Warning which alerts the driver when it detects vehicles hidden from sight; Lane Departure Warning which gives the driver a visual and an audible alert when it detects an unintentional lane departure; and Hill Start Assist which holds pressure on the brake for a few seconds, providing the driver enough time to switch from the brake pedal to the accelerator.
Moreover, the Intelligent Around View Monitor provides a clear 360° view, allowing the driver to park perfectly with ease and avoid obstacle, while the Rear Parking Sensors lend a helping hand when backing up. In addition, there’s the Intelligent Rear View Mirror that go from being a mirror to being a monitor with just a flip of a switch. When turned on, a camera at the rear hatch expands the rear field of vision, helping the driver see around obstructions for a completely
That was the Nissan Terra-complete with a powerful engine, modern-yet-traditional design, and reliable Nissan Intelligent Mobility features… our featured car in this week’s Car Review.

I own a 2019 Terra so I can say...Not much of a review...more like a verbal recitation of the brochure. Also I hate the background sounds. I can't call it music, because it's just digital noise. Thumbs down for the reasons I stated. But My Review is I love the Terra.
Also, before I bought the Terra, I also checked out and drove the Fortuner, MU-X & the Pajero. All had similar interiors, so the comments regarding "cheap plastic" just don't hold much water. The Terra has more options as standard equipment, for it's price than any of the three I mentioned. The Isuzu was close in options, price & ride quality. The Fortuner was crap, the Pajero rode like a truck and was 20% more expensive for the same equipment level. Also, what's up with Fortuner & Pajero on getting the third row seats out of the way. Both of their solutions wasted space & just bad ideas.
Now my friend, that's a review.

Nissan needs to lower the price against competitors since joined the party too late without bringing anything special

Terra could be a solid competitor in this segment if not for its cheap and plasticky interior. For 4x2 variants, my choices would include Everest Titanium Plus, Montero GLS Premium, and Fortuner V (I will install an aftermarket Ridemax 4-way suspension).

the more options we have, the better. toyota's advantage is the availability nd affordability of parts. but if you know how to take care of your car, most cars will still last at least 10years with little to no major issues. i dont plan on using my car that long, that's why im not going for the fortuner. i want to enjoy the features RIGHT NOW in which the fortuner is very much lacking compared to the competition, not to mention having the worst ride in the segment. we all have different preferences you know, not all are close minded. ☺
