- UFC featherweight Brian Ortega takes Brett Okamoto into his childhood neighborhood of Harbor City in Los Angeles, California, describing the violent environment he was brought up in and how he got into fighting. Ortega discusses how his father “taught him to survive” the streets and spends time with some of his friends in the area.

Really? Me and brian first met at knife fights in the underground hood fighting scene, he stabbed 3 dudes in a row so i bought him a beer. Somehow he liked me so we went in his backyard to smoke some crack and roll a little bit. After i heelhooked him he got pissed and stabbed me in my arm with a broken crack pipe, so i took a baseballbat and knocked him out with it.
last week i saw him again at wallmart but fortunately for me he didnt recognised me anymore!

This was great. Being from a rough area myself growing up, I can relate to some of the stuff he did/saw... How can u NOT be a fan of this man? Very humble and caring for his family/friends and people in general. Not to mention his warrior spirt. The dude is a terminator. Nothing but greatness for him.

This is actually inspiring and I'm close to the age of Brian Ortega and just seeing his story reminds me of the strange and scary days around the time when I was a teenager even I wasn't in that crowd I witnessed some confrontations, the threats, the violence and situations it kind of changes your perspective about the world

I love how Ortega acts like he grew up in some war torn country or grew up in extreme poverty as a gangster in the worst parts of LA. I know exactly where he grew up, it’s definitely far from the worst.

I can't wait for this fight! I honestly won't be surprised with whoever wins. I give Max the slight advantage if he is 100%. As long as Max stays on the outside, moves in and out quickly and avoids the clinch then Max should take it by decision. If Ortega can land that vicious uppercut and tie Max up in the clinch then I think Ortega will find his neck or arm. Both are absolute killers, there hasn't been such an even title fight like this in a while in my opinion. I'd give a limb to be in Canada this weekend.
won't be a title fight, because max will not make weight, watch. the only way he was making 145 is by water loading with distilled water before cutting, which is dangerous as fuck and what made him sick last time. this will be a catchweight (and thus non-title) fight if ortega takes it, and holloway will have 5-10 pounds on ortega, so he will probably take the decision. otherwise, if somehow he does make weight, he will be nowhere near 100%.
