  • Trying to resist or deny parts of ourselves only leads to inner turmoil and then, of course, the outer turmoil begins. It's so easy to fall into the trap of the victim mentality and blame others for how we feel or how our lives have turned out (we've all done it) and it's even easier to keep ourselves so busy we have no time to understand ourselves and our feelings. Or we choose to use destructive methods to cope with the pain (I am the queen of using old destructive behaviours and patterns). I've learnt that surrendering to both the dark and light aspects of myself (however painful it feels) only leads to a greater sense of freedom afterwards. Not many people take the journey of inner truth because it is not an easy journey - perhaps the most difficult of all. It takes courage and it takes strength. When we can take responsibility for ourselves - both light and dark aspects - without the need to resist and run from ourselves we begin to experience the most profound freedom. And of course it is only ourselves that can set us free. As Maxi Jazz once said "how many centuries have we been waiting for someone else to make us free?" - I agree! Only YOU have that power. Love to all xxxxxxxx
