Looks like I am not the only who carry lego pieces in ice cream boxes. Very useful when your collection grows and you have to many pieces from one category or color. Then just pick bigger box and this use for another pieces. Smart & ecological way to manage big lego collection. Trailer awesome too.
I agree. Although I mostly use ice cream containers when sorting bricks and when I need more of specific brick, so that I don't always go search for them in the "remote" drawers :-) Best regards.
Oh, and those other creations you talk about, are not all mine. This was shot on Planet Kock exhibition in Gospodarko razstavišče in Ljubljana fair in december 2016.
Ater 10 monthis I got the parts finally to build it and its gorgeous. Thank you for the instructions and parts list. Sadly though mine struggles a lot to lift the dumpbucket up. Down goes well but up it does not go wit out helping with hand at first. And mine is super slow
Thx, I am glad you like it. Have you oaid attention to string routing around the pulleys? Be carefull the string sits well on all the pulleys. Also, check the Claas if there is anything that prevents the PTO to give out maximum power it can. Maybe there is some problem with the motor or batteries. I do admit that I only tested the trailer with the motorised version of the Claas by Efferman and don't know how it performs on the OOB model. And yes it is a bit slow because there are double pulleys under the bed so it takes a while to wind up all the string. Also you are correct, the load is the highest at the begining of the lift when the lifting beam is horizontal. I hope you manage to make it work. Best regards.
Thank you very much. Even if it doen not work its just awesome to look at it. I just found something that may be a problem but not sure. I thought only mine was slow because in the videos not only in your but ither too who build it looks so fast. But you are right could be that I tried mine with the original lego set nit the motorized one. I hope I can make it work flawlessly. Have to keep trying. Your awesome for sharing this with us and give support to all of us who write you a comment. Lego and the world need more cool dudes like you. Thank you
Thank you for your nice word. I really don't recall whether the PTO in the original and in the Motorised version are the same or not. As you can see, this is not so new anymore and my Claas and trailer have donated the parts for further creations a long time ago. I am having trouble to find time for preparing proper vids for my MOCs. Thanks again and happy building!
Pat Ard I see you made it a lot bigger :-) I like the longer version a lot. I guess Unimog is a bit bigger scale than Xerion. Any problems with lifting that huge bed? Your green Unimog looks fantastic. I regret skipping that set. Well, I guess I can't have them all :-) Thanks again, I really apreciate it. Best regards, Miha
Yes, a little bigger ;) The Unimogs scale is about 1/12.5. Want to see some more Unimogs? take a look here: www.doktor-brick.de/index.php/Thread/2088-Hier-meine-Unimog-Co-Kollektion/?pageNo=1 Best Regards Pat
Thx :-) If you'll use the original tractor, be aware that PTO is turning in the same direction all the time so some small modification of the tractor is needed in order to control the direction of the PTO. Best regards.
Original set is built in a way, that the battery box can be turned on only in one direction, so the PTO only turns in one direction. The trailer needs both directions of PTO in order to raise or lower the bed. So in orther to use the trailer with the original, you need to enable turning on the battery box in both directions in order to control the PTO direction. keep in mind that if you turn the BB the other way, the tractor functions will work the other way as well. (I hope I was clear enough). Best regards.

Yes, pretty clear what you mean. This mod should be easy :)
Amazing Work.. very well thought out and designed like the real looking trailer! Maybe needs you to use the round yellow 1 X stud bricks as the cargo so it looks like wheat grain or sand and it would flow better than the normal square bricks? Just a idea. : ) Again well done.
This was so fantastic.. you have done a outstanding job just on the details of the trailer! It is just like the real one.. and then it also works as well? The auto-steering trailer wheels is another great job, and then there's more with the wheels having full suspension as well too! The pulley system to get around the fact as you said there is no right sized pneumatic cylinders is a great idea, and it works well? I love the fact, that with the new lego tech you can have a great Radio Controlled model doing all the same actions as the real life machine often can do? I grown up with the old lego of the 1980's and it would have been amazing to have just the new pieces of lego they have now never known the new small RC tech to help motorise the model and have them preform so many great actions? Thank you so much for this video :)
Awesome design work on the trailer. The 6 tumbler tires look awesome! Would I be able to purchase the instructions? I just finished my Claas and don't want to build that crane attachment as I feel it ruins the look of the awesome Claas tractor. This would be the perfect setup for my 42030 Volvo loader.
Tom Bucci Jr. Thank you very much :-) See link in the description, the building instructions are free, but if you feel guilty, you can support my work with a small donation ;-) Best regards and enjoy the build.
I'm building the tractor now and stumbled across this video. I like the trailer a lot and I have to have it. how much for instructions and a parts list so I can build my own?
ColoradoBoss Actually, it will cost you a lot of patience and time, because the trailer is still in my closet, waiting for instructions to be made. It will happen, but when? - Now that is a real mystery ;-)
It's a roligon MOC by Skandinavc FH. I think he didn't make a presentation about it yet. IN following galleries you can see some more photos of it from various exhibitions of our LUG Kocke Klub: www.kocke.si/kockefest/kf16.php www.kocke.si/kockefest/kr19.php www.kocke.si/kockefest/kr20.php
Is the chain on the back a lego chain or Mega blocks? I have some like that but always tought they were mega Blocks. If it lego does anyone now part number or set those came in?
It's LEGO part: www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=53551&idColor=77#T=S&C=77&O={"color":77} It's called "bionicle chain link section"- part 53551. It recently appeared in LEGO Technic set 42024. Otherwise appears in these LEGO sets: www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=53551&in=S
Tokatt Here is the link to Effermans lxf files/instructions: bricksafe.com/pages/efferman/claas-xerion-rc-mod-instruction I must warn you though, those are are not for the faint hearted. Effermans motorized model is a masterpiece and a rather tough build. But its totaly worth it. Best regards.
by the way is his version compatible with this trailer? And on his you can controll that thing that makes your trailer tip? I watched his video but if I understood correctly you have to manually controll the tipping
Tokatt No, the trailer is totaly compatible with his tractor - you see it on the video. Tipping is performed by using PTO from the rear, which is remotely controlled. It is alao compatible with the original set, where PTO is motor powered as well...
Tokatt There is nothing to ask, as there are none...perhapse I'll make a photo sequence while dismantling, but I have no time for it at the moment. Oh and if/when that happens, I'll ask you to enjoy the build :-)
I have seen your instructions and I wanted to thank you for sharing this masterpiece. Thank you. Im gonna use 2 sized axle and I will not join the dark side hehe :-) Thank you very much
It is raised by a pulley mechanism. The drum for the the string is placed in front of the trailer and is driven by a worm gear which is driven by the reat PTO on the tractor. THere are no motors on the trailer.
NO, you cannot buy it, it is my own creation and I do plan to take photos of building sequence and post it on rebrickable.com but I really don't know when that will happen as it is sitting in my closet for almost half a year now...
If anyone is interested - instructions available on Rebrickable.com. rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-8830/MajklSpajkl/tractor-dump-trailer-for-claas-xerion-5000-trac-vc-42054-set/#comments
You can start by buying it ;-) shop.lego.com/en-DE/CLAAS-XERION-5000-TRAC-VC-42054 But that will only get you to the body of the one in the video, the chasssis and motorisation was design by AFOL designer Efferman and published on Eurobricks.com

Sehr schöne Umsetzung der Details. Beeindruckende Technik in dem Modell. Solche Leute sollten für Lego Modelle designen.
K Eicher Danke schön, das wäre nicht schlecht :-)
Really nice looking trailer. Also love it that you added the exhaust to the xerion just like the older xerion models.
Bram Thanks, I like it much better with the exhaust :-)
Yeah the exhaust does its job really well! :)
I liked the steering using the link! Great idea. Both the trailes and the tractor looks awesome.
Jan Dvořák Thanks a lot, well, as I wrote in the description, the tractor is not my design, Efferman did it.
Great design, looks very realistic, and good functionality! love it!
Very well put together trailer and video. Loved the music choice.
Nice Technic - Moc !! A great Trailer for the Claas-Model.
wow~ very nice Tractor Dump Trailer.
Your trailer is awesome! Especially I like the outdoor video!
I love the tractor and trailer
Nice details on that trailer. Looks really cool in the outside footage :)!
Toyz Builder ,p
thats a great looking trailer by Efferman (great job) - Love how you casually drove the rig past all your other creations haha - great video :)
Well, the trailer is actually my design - the motorized Xerion is done by Efferman :-)
MajklSpajkl whoops! Our apologies - well done to you both 🙂👍🏻
Oh, and those other creations you talk about, are not all mine. This was shot on Planet Kock exhibition in Gospodarko razstavišče in Ljubljana fair in december 2016.

:D this is so awesome, the way you made the trailer wheels was clever, great build!
Doge The shibe Thank you very much :-)
Your trailer is really amazing, thanks for sharing the instructions. I made some modifications, now the trailer fits the Unimog...
Pat Ard That sounds great, did you post some photos somewhere to see? I'd really love to see how that looks. And thanks for your comment :-)
There are some pictures, but I need some more red panels to finish it...

Very nice trailer.... The details are great.
Looks so realistic!!
Where is this magical place? Your kitchen floor? Nice use of the tumbler wheels.
Fantastic build. Just finished my Xerion yesterday and am looking for stuff like this to enhance it.
Thx :-) If you'll use the original tractor, be aware that PTO is turning in the same direction all the time so some small modification of the tractor is needed in order to control the direction of the PTO. Best regards.

Insane. Really cool!

Nice!! You should build a John Deere to pull the trailer😉
this is so cool
Best looking trailer ever 😎

Hello, a great model!
Do you have a blueprint?

Well done Pat Ard - this is way bigger than mine. I'm glad it still holds up and I like faster lifting mechnism than mine.
MajklSpajkl thank you... Yes, I used knob wheels for building the winch.
