I've seen Sleeping With Sirens 5 times and this is what he sounds like when his voice is tired. It does strain your voice trying to hit those notes even if his voice is pretty high so are those notes. Overall good job for going on stage and giving it his all.

No, hes not a bad singer. The problem is he just cant sing his old material anymore which is a damn shame, their old material was the best stuff. It also sounds like hes trying to hard to sing with grit to try to mask his naturally feminine singing voice. The irony is his naturally feminine voice sounds a hell of a lot better than him trying to avoid it. Watch some performances from 2012, he just embraces it and it sounds fantastic, he pulls off nearly every note in the song.

Marissa Destino Two things: 1. She did not say "It's always the microphone." She said, "[It] is the fucking microphone," which is actually at least partially true. They were having issues with the mics for most of the award show where vocals were getting lost/dropped periodically. Outside shows are always tricky when it comes to mics, especially if there is any sort of wind because vocals tend to get lost, drowned out or distorted. She never said that they always have issues with his microphone every time they perform live as you insinuated. 2. I just saw them live and they, including Kellin, were as good, if not better, live than on their albums.
It wasn't the microphone. Mics don't make singers miss notes. That's not how it works. Kellin was just having an off night. He was either sick, had a tired/strained voice, or was just having a rough night. These things happen to ALL performers. I'm not taking anything away from his talent as a vocalist, but this was just a poor performance by him. It happens.

True, this performance was honestly cringe-worthy... But when I saw them (and PTV) live in January, they were terrific. Kellin's vocals were impressive and the playing was top-notch. I left the concert utterly amazed- they sounded just like they do on their albums. I couldn't have been more satisfied with the show they delivered. Hopefully, this performance in particular doesn't taint their image as musicians for they are, in my opinion, a truly talented band!

This is a perfect example of what happens when your constantly trying to sing out of a key that's comfortable for you and not being able to deliver live. Always sing in your range, never try to constantly push yourself by singing high ass notes every 10 seconds just do show off. Then all you have to do is butcher one or two notes in the songs live instead of the whole goddamn thing.

Sleeping With Sirens is probably my favorite band. I saw SWS with All Time Low in October during the Back to the Future Hearts Tour. They were amazing. This performance was not good for multiple reasons, but that doesn't mean that every single live performance is shit. I don't know if he was drunk, sick, or his voice was worn out from performing so much, but this just wasn't an accurate representation of the band's live performances. As for the people saying that every concert is awful, um... okay? Have you seen every single concert? I don't want to sound like a bitch, but really. You can't generalize that they suck live just because you have some problem with the band. I get that it's your opinion, but saying flat out that they suck live then claiming that it's not an opinion just a fact makes you seem extremely ignorant and uneducated. Also, the crowd really sucked. I'm not saying that they were trying to be awful, but it wasn't a good crowd as far as crowds go. Most of the people probably didn't know the band or the song (because it wasn't just a concert, it was an awards show), so it isn't their fault. 1. She did not say "It's always the microphone." She said, "[It] is the fucking microphone," which is actually at least partially true. They were having issues with the mics for most of the award show where vocals were getting lost/dropped periodically. Outside shows are always tricky when it comes to mics, especially if there is any sort of wind because vocals tend to get lost, drowned out or distorted. She never said that they always have issues with his microphone every time they perform live as you insinuated.
2. I just saw them live and they, including Kellin, were as good, if not better, live than on their albums.
It wasn't the microphone. Mics don't make singers miss notes. That's not how it works. Kellin was just having an off night. He was either sick, had a tired/strained voice, or was just having a rough night. These things happen to ALL performers. I'm not taking anything away from his talent as a vocalist, but this was just a poor performance by him. It happens.
It sounds like he was loosing his voice so I don't blame him for the singing if he was loosing his voice that must have been painful

True, this performance was honestly cringe-worthy... But when I saw them (and PTV) live in January, they were terrific. Kellin's vocals were impressive and the playing was top-notch. I left the concert utterly amazed- they sounded just like they do on their albums. I couldn't have been more satisfied with the show they delivered. Hopefully, this performance in particular doesn't taint their image as musicians for they are, in my opinion, a truly talented band!
Wow Kellin's voice is horrible. People who are saying it's the equipment's fault obviously arn't singers because bad equipment can't make his voice sound that way. I'm a singer so i know what his problem is. He is not breathing correctly, you can tell by the way he is singing. This is weird because only amateurs have this type of problem yet Kellin has been singing for a long time. Not only was his voice bad, but everything he was doing on stage was over the top. He was obviously either drunk or high

This is a perfect example of what happens when your constantly trying to sing out of a key that's comfortable for you and not being able to deliver live. Always sing in your range, never try to constantly push yourself by singing high ass notes every 10 seconds just do show off. Then all you have to do is butcher one or two notes in the songs live instead of the whole goddamn thing.

Sleeping With Sirens is probably my favorite band. I saw SWS with All Time Low in October during the Back to the Future Hearts Tour. They were amazing. This performance was not good for multiple reasons, but that doesn't mean that every single live performance is shit. I don't know if he was drunk, sick, or his voice was worn out from performing so much, but this just wasn't an accurate representation of the band's live performances. As for the people saying that every concert is awful, um... okay? Have you seen every single concert? I don't want to sound like a bitch, but really. You can't generalize that they suck live just because you have some problem with the band. I get that it's your opinion, but saying flat out that they suck live then claiming that it's not an opinion just a fact makes you seem extremely ignorant and uneducated. Also, the crowd really sucked. I'm not saying that they were trying to be awful, but it wasn't a good crowd as far as crowds go. Most of the people probably didn't know the band or the song (because it wasn't just a concert, it was an awards show), so it isn't their fault.
