  • The Historic Thurso castle is a landmark in this part of Northern Scottish Highlands is an iconic ruined castle that has changed over time.
Many famous characters were born, raised and lived there but now is in ruins due to weather making the foundations unstable over time.

Another thing to do. Take some time to explore around Thurso.

Sad that the castle is in such a bad shape. I was there in 2017 and visited a friend in Thurso.

Sadly these things do happen, from my understanding it was difficult to live in parts when it started to lean drastically but sad for the iconic landmark of the town. The town has defintely changed since your last visit here!

Yes, I believe that. A lot has changed, even here in Germany, it’s a gradual process. Is it difficult to earn money for living in Thurso?

Yes, it is a slow series of changes that help people to become used to those changes. From what I know from personal experience, like most places and I imagine Germany, it can sometimes be quite difficult to earn money. There are many local buisnesses that offer employement but demand for those limited opportunities is high!

Yes I think so too. But I love Scotland, because the people are friendly and it’s more silent than in my own country. I think Thurso is a peaceful place to live. Keep your head up :). You should visit Holbornhead.

The people help to add to the richness of Scotland and its beauty. There are some less silent parts that can be found. It is a calm, beautiful and friendly place to live. Your country is on my "to visit list"! Thank you :) There is the set of my videos of the walks at/around Scrabster that included a brief walk to Holburn head but didn't feel brave enough to walk along the cliffs in wind and snow!🤔
