I’ve seen a vid on this collection already but this one was far, far better. Your lack of knowledge on the subject gave you the natural curiosity that drives a great interview. Asking if only the males have antlers may have felt dumb but in caribou among others the females can have antlers. More importantly you felt like it may be a dumb question but asked anyway. It was a great sign of your character and the self-assured and humble place you are coming from. Letting this intrepid shed hunter tell his stories and the stories of the animals that contributed to his collection was what I wanted. Really well done young man! Liked and sub’d!
Not knowing anything about antlers probably made that guy's day. You just know his family has heard it all already and he probably hasn't been able to explain the basics to anyone who was genuinely curious about his hobby (but not also a collector themselves) in years.

@@drewlackmango out in early March. Go to the thicketts. The thick areas are where you will score. The antlers get get hung on all the brush and it knocks them off. Look for trails. Deer will beat down the forest floor and make a trail. Follow that to the thickets and you'll find some.
There are a lot of "shed antlers" in this room. But most of hte racks on the wall have either a skull plate of an entire skull attached. These are not sheds.
You can see that the skull plates have been eaten by small animals. If he killed them the entire skull would be intact. Im sure he did kill some of them, but every single skull thats not completely intact was one he found almost guaranteed.
@@jonahflorano but you do find dead heads, animals that died of exhaustion during the rut or other natural causes, or wolves or coyotes got them. Their skeleton remains.
So he is saying that he has gotten 99.9 % of these on his own, but I sure see alot of skull cap mounts and I would like to know how many is he claiming that he has killed? I just can't see him finding and killing this many that he has skulls for.
@drewlackman .1 % isn't alot of them and that's what he was claiming he was given. So now that you have said he hasn't killed any of these there are alot of full skulls and racks with a skull cap ,so now unless he has been given alot more than he claims there is no way he found so many full buck skulls. If you counted them all and you divide them by the years he said he has been doing this and I bet you will find that he would have to have found a few hundred a year and that is in the few months that he has to look there's no way he found 99.9% of his collection. Sorry but he said it and it just doesn't add up. Anyway cool content.
I would love to meet this man. Im a shed hunter and have tons but nothing even close to that. Amazing Amazing collection. Thank you for this video
Thank you so much for watching
Incredible collection. What a patient man to give such a tour to a stranger.
I know right, I bought all three of his books prior to filming

Wow, walking in that room is visually stunning. Had a legitimate jaw drop moment.
It is so incredible
This guy's got a collection that'll buy a house and some land. Crazy amount. I consider myself lucky to find one when I'm out.
Very impressive, especially the passionate presentation and the interest of the young man. Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much

Thank you
Whoaaa that antler room is crazy looking! Learned so much from this video thanks for uploading 😊
Glad he was able to educate you on the fascinating life of Cervids! (Deer, elk, moose)
Me too! I learned a lot while I was there.
Almost every shed I find tells a story about his physical condition and / or how he lived. I love it for that reason.
Me too so amazing
Enjoyed every minute ,.,.Tkzz for sharing,.,.peace
Thank you so much

My son and I made a visit to Jim's shed 4 years ago when we vacationed in Montana... It was incredible to say the least
Yeah that's incredible. Shed hunting is not easy, Jim is incredibly dedicated.
So awesome
wow the mule deer shed with a bullet hole is so cool. you can tell that thing was a monster.. and someone missed their shot of a life time
Yeah that’s prob my fav one tbh
Yeah that’s prob my fav one tbh
Wow what a great video! Jim is so knowledgeable!
Thank you!
Wow that's a dream man cave. I'd love to have that many antlers in my collection 😎
What state that guy live in?
Having a gym or a gaming/theater set up in there would be next level 🤯
Montana
Whats his biggest white tail and mule deer sheds? Got to be a few pushing 200 inches in all those.
Not sure but I think you’re right
Unreal amount 😳😳😳
Nowadays with the amount of shed hunters in the woods be impossible to find this many in a life time
I’d be happy if I can find one shed someday I’ve never found one yet
@@drewlackman I had a good hunt today what state u in
That’s sick. I was in MT when I met up with Jim but now I live in Washington state

Then antlers dont loook like sheds they loook like they wat sawed out the deers head like if he hunted and kept antlers from deer he killed
All of those antlers are sheds, none of them were hunted
