Hong Kong China would be Paradise to most Americans. Hong Kong is safe. No drive by shootings. No KKK. Just a bunch of spoiled rich kids who got brainwashed by Western media. If there is no freedom in Hong Kong China then no place in earth has freedom. Only in Hong Kong China is where rioters can occupy streets for months and firebomb police stations without getting arrested. Try doing the same in the U.S.....lol... cops will shot your ass

HK-American here. I don't want to be identified when critiquing the protest movement either. I also don't want to be identified when I am patronising the wrong restaurant or shop because I don't want to be doxxed or assaulted in public. I am still careful with what I say on social media because even a simple fact-checking can provoke a hateful response. This was the state of freedom in Hong Kong in 2019 and I am glad that as the mood cools down our freedoms are gradually returning.
Some things, although intangible by the letter of the law, really harm the freedoms of everybody.

There is also a major affordable housing shortage which is the result of the British leaving and selling their property to the super rich. They should have allocated those land for affordable housing. They didn't. It's a normal free and nice city. So what are these radicalized youth talking about?
