    Stephen Morris’s drumming on Transmission is out of the world. He’s a walking drum machine for keeping the tempo up that long.

    Joy division as a live act was so good at creating such powerful tension and then popping that bubble at the perfect time. Crazy how much loud applause can be heard right in the middle of day of the lords when the band is working the hardest. Thanks for uploading!

    I was 21 when I was overwhelmed by Joy Division, my first thought was a new version of the Doors but apon revision, they were just Joy Division and that was a really great thing 😳❤️🖤❣️

    Confesso a vcs q havia parado de ouvir Joy Division, talvez pelo clima q o instrumental nos traz! Mas caí novamente em sublimes camadas de teclados, uma bateria poderosa e criativa, guitarras percussivas s/ solos e os vocais onde sentìamos toda a dor de fazer parte deste mundo fétido, cruel e desumano!     Great. Saw Warsaw but somehow never JD. Pure beauty. I think Barney built that synth for nothing and Hookys Rick was a 100 quid copy.

    A lot of Joy Division's best songs were where Hook and Sumner swapped guitar and bass. God, I just remembered the video recording of this from the 1980s - it was pretty much inaudible...

    So many different variations on the lyrics to Colony (album, peel sessions, this recording, etc.) Is there somewhere to find a collection of Ian's writings or the non-album versions of lyrics?

      There are lots of unpublished/unused lyrics contained in "Touching from a Distance" by Deb Curtis. I have paperback, didn't find hard cover yet.

    My favorite band by far. And I’ve been listening to rock of all ages for more than 30 years now. So original and ahead of its time. Ian Curtis for a couple seconds sounds a lot like Jim Morrison in that song “Higher”.
