Absolutely charming! Very unique and whimsical! I love the dainty flowers you used. Your idea about fairies would be so cute too! These would be fun for showers, weddings, any kind of fun party! LOVE!!!❤❤❤
I have spent days checking out floating tea cups online. Your creations are by far the most beautiful, delicate and professional-looking of them all. Thank you for sharing your talent with us. ~ Barbara in Dallas
Hiya Bernie! The best thing to do is let it set over night. try gluing the fork to the base and let that set and then glue the cup to the top of the fork x I let mine set over night.
Your tips in the 1st five minutes are very good, practical tips. They will definitely help me avoid some frustrations as I make my first floating teacup. It was really helpful to understand why the cup should not be angled so far back from the saucer. I had not considered that. I especially like the tip of wrapping the fork or whatever with florist'a tape. Actually, there were lot of tips here that I can use. Thank you for sharing!
I did make a floating teacup as an engagement gift! It came out beautifully. It is white roses & rosebuds with leaves, intertwined with iridescent beads. The cup and saucer are white with gold trim, the saucer is covered with moss, and there is a white garden arch/gate (as tall as the teacup. My husband even helped by shaping the fork with his table-mounted vice (making it so easy). I used E6000 glue. Your video was very helpful. I will be doing another soon!
Thank you for sharing how to do these I can't wait to make one. I live in the US and I will be working a Craft Show so I am thinking I may make some of these. I also had a lady at my doctor's office ask me if I do weddings so these would make wonderful centerpieces. My late mom use to live in Blanchardstown on Woodview Grove but she sold her house and moved to the US sadly she passed away at the ripe old age of 94. Again thanks for sharing.
That is so cute. I'll have to try the fairy tea cup idea, thanks for sharing. Can't wait to see some painting of furniture, I have a vintage vanity I am wanting to paint.
My 1st attempt was a disaster as I used hot glue & no sooner had it set when it cracked away from the cup & saucer. I'm going to try silicone this time. I've used it before on some outdoor fairy gardens & it was brilliant so I'm hoping it'll do the trick. I can't wait to try your technique x
I made my first one today. I used a plastic plate and a bigger coffee cup. And you are correct, it started to tip. So, I used rocks to weigh it down. Also, used hot glue gun and mixed blue food coloring for water and added the flowers. Used glue gun for all of it. Now I know what to use. Thank you for the information. I also, added flowers around the edge of the opening of the cup. It looks good for my first. But, not really sure about the extra flowers on cup.
Hiya... you're a sweetheart. love love love your house. It's pretty. Can't wait to decorate my very 1st cottage hopefully before Christmas. Regards all the way from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Looking at your small tea cup; I was wondering if you could do a tea pot pouring into the cup? Maybe it has already been done but yours is the first I have seen. Such a cute idea.
Yes, that sounds like a fab idea with the teapot. I would say you would have to use something stronger than a fork. Maybe some strong wire from the hardware store x thanks so much for watching x
Hello Catherine I asked you a question a couple of days ago in regards to the moss. I had a few long green leaves in my collection of flowers and I wanted to send you a photo of the leaves and my finished floating tea cup. Anita
Love this! It's adorable and so pretty! I have just recently been making little fairy garden terrariums myself and I think a fairy version of the floating tea cups is a great idea! I might give it a go and if I do and do a video on my channel I'll be sure to give you a little shout out ! :-) Also, I totally understand how No More Nails is the absolute BEST when it comes to trying to make anything stick well haha! :-) Great job!
Hi there I’ve seen your floating tea cup and I wanted to make one for my mum for Mother’s Day. I couldn’t find the green fake foliage but some brown wool and moss basket liner. Do you think this will do instead of the green foliage? Thank you. Anita
Hi anita, you can position the moss liner and wool on the cup before glueing to see what it looks like. If you are happy with how it looks then go ahead and glue, have fun making them xx
These are so lovely Catherine, I want to make some for my wedding centrepieces. Where do you recommend in Blanch for buying reasonable priced tea cups?
Hiya Ciara, best place is to keep an eye on adverts.ie and done deal. Make a search alert and anytime a new set is listed you will get a notification. Be quick as they sell fast. x
This is so cute !! It will take my bridal shower tea party themed, to a whole new level. May I ask where did you buy this tea cup and saucer? I can never find nice, affordable ones.
Yes, the shops I've gone to are extremely expensive. And I'm not familiar with the names or authenticity of the teacups. I've only recently known the Royal Albert because of your tutorials. I love them so much. I've begun transforming my kitchen 😍. I'm so happy I found your channel.
Hi Catherine, I finally made a floating tea cup. I tried no more nails,e6000 but they didn't work. I finally tried the hot glue and it worked. But we'll see how well it stands up. I love it 💗💗💗
Adorable! You and the project is adorable! Thank you for sharing!

You could probably use some flat, metal washers to weight the saucer down, too, instead of coins.
That is such a great idea with the washers!
Really cute.

thank you
Hi Do you have a tutriol on making the memory bears please
hi Sharon, no I do t have a memory bear video but if you search Pinterest you should be able to find a pattern to use x ❤️
Can i use plastic I want do it for my daughter bday
Hi, Is that the same as liquid nails?
Hiya yes, similar to liquid nails x
You are better off to use green satin ribbon glued on the fork...eventually floral tape will start to "stink"...
Aw the floral tape is actually florist tape. Its not from flowers it is like a stretchy craft tape, like washi tape. It has no scent.
Dainty Diaries Oh, okay. It really is a beautiful decoration. can you use E6000 instead? Thanks.
How do you wrap/ package this🤔
Lots of bubble wrap, which I know isn't ideal for the environment, maybe in a shoe box with recycled paper x
I love this but can't find any teacups and saucer 😩
Have you tried charity shops?
Yes, the shops I've gone to are extremely expensive. And I'm not familiar with the names or authenticity of the teacups. I've only recently known the Royal Albert because of your tutorials. I love them so much. I've begun transforming my kitchen 😍. I'm so happy I found your channel.
