Hello Cole 👋 Dominic is very brave. He left the United States alone at the age of 16 to start his life adventure. It’s great / I left home when I was 14~joined the army to take an independent adventure~my personality is not like Taiwanese~😅I like adventure (food ~ I dare to eat anything ~ my only strong point越南的鴨仔蛋我也敢吃🥶這會嚇倒不少人) ~ but I did not leave Taiwan, I do not have your great adventurous spirit.清水空氣稍微有點差～我是住在苗栗縣的山區，這裡的空氣就好很多，山區野生動物也很多～山羌、鼬獾、白鼻心、山豬、猴子、藍腹鷴、石虎、各種蛇～等等……（石虎只見過1次、藍腹鷴2次～其他的次數較多）
你們倆位都是帥哥

My parenting experience is listening to children and don’t always judge what they say. This way children will like to talk about things with you so that you know their thoughts and activities. Of course you should give your opinions and point out those wrong doings. Respect them as a person.

This is very interesting. I am from Hong Kong. And I live in Vancouver in Canada. I am 64 now. When I was eighteen, I went to college in Oregon. I can hear the Oregonian accent of your guest now that he mentioned he is from Oregon. I went on a packaged tour to Taiwan when I was around 13. In HK in those days, the geography of Taiwan is one of the subjects in our geography classes too. I remembered Taiwan was very green and the smell of sulpher in the hot spring area. We went from north to south through the whole island on a tour bus. I met many people from different backgrounds in Canada. Sometimes I ask them about things I don't understand, e.g. with my faith. I am Catholic. A conversation with a Jewish acquaintance led me to visit the Holy Land and the Mediterranean on a cruise visit. Those visits are so interesting. They broadened my horizon of so many things I read and studied and watched on TH-cam. One thing is sure. We pray for a better world and we try to work towards it when we hajve a chance.

I'm not a parent, but something I heard recently resonated with me, because it's something I have experienced, and I think it would be a critical part of parenting that can stay with your kids into adulthood, if you get it wrong. Your children should not be the scapegoat for your unfulfilled pursuits in life. They are here because of your choices. They don't owe you anything. Your job is to prepare them for the world, then it's up to them. Being a parent is not a transaction, but something you should give yourself to fully without expectation of "reimbursement."

I think Taiwan is a more open society by East Asian standards due to the fact that it's an immigrant society, kind of like U.S. People are more willing to let go of their old ways of doing things and learn and adapt new ideas which is great because in this age of Clash of Civilizations between East and West, Taiwan is actually showing the world that both cultures can exist in harmony. It takes work and it's not perfect but why choose sides when you can have the best of both worlds.
Just be yourself cuz Taiwan is just the place to be who you want to be~
Love today’s episode. I did the opposite of moving to Canada when I was 18 and been here ever since.
