    I’ll never forget inviting my wife to my bands gig when we first started dating. She was standing in front of me with a group of her friends and I was up there playing guitar hero, not realizing I had stepped on my chord and pulled it out mid set. 10 years later and she still brings it up lol. Buy a wireless.

    Dagan/PMT is probably the only group/guy that makes a long gear video where you film informed start to finish. No senseless fluff and noodling. If he has a band someone let me know I’d like to show some support.

    As a beginner acoustic/electric player this video has tons of useful info. I'd never even heard of having to pay for bandwidth on a wireless system. The system I bought is 2.4 MHz so no worries, but it's nice to have peace of mind. Thanks.

I wanted an 80’s tone video and he put one out the next day and he was using the amp I was looking at purchasing myself haha than I was talking to my brother the other night and told him I think I’m gonna start looking for a wireless system but I wanna do my research and boom DAGAN PROVIDES AGAIN!!!!

    We need demos of all these wireless sets, in hd for tonal comparison with a frequency readout in a DAW

    • @stevenpdxedu
      @stevenpdxedu 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've seen a lot of demos of modern wireless systems. Even the inexpensive ones are so clean there's not much difference you could see on a DAW. Not even zoomed way in. And, if you did, you probably couldn't hear it. Many of the presenters even repeat that. Hope this helps.

    I will say as someone who's worked at a somewhat small venue, the digital wireless that uses the Bluetooth frequencies work well for the guitar but they have all interfered with the signal we used to run monitors using the iPad. That would also sometimes actually freeze the board itself and it's happened several times. It's best to use the other frequencies when at a gig so that it's easier for the sound crew.
    Great reviews and explanations, I've learned a lot watching this video. Thank you

    My wife bought me a wireless system in 2004, and it didn’t last very long, it was kinda of a cheaper one. But i loved it! One thing it does for me, it inspired me to play more than ever. Half the reason i get lazy and stop playing, is because i don’t want to have to be plugged in and tethered into the amp.

    Great video, however I noticed one thing you didn't cover an issue I've actually been having. Two of my guitars with passive pickups work fine with wireless systems, however I have a Zakk Wylde Epiphone Les Paul with matching Zakk Wylde Emg pickup set and I have a Kramer Nightswan with a Passive Seymour Duncan JB in the neck and a Seymour Duncan active heavy metal live wire in the bridge (yes you can wire these together as per Seymour Duncan. ) . Neither one of my Guitars with active pickups work with wireless systems, well not the cheaper ones anyway. Boss on one of the mid range models has a bit of a fix where you need to put a mono adapter between the wireless and the guitar to get it to read and others just don't work. Truly been a pain because after my pedal board I go into a stereo set up with my amps. Wireless would work so much better for me on this set up.
    Just for anyone else having these issues, they do exist lol

      Honestly, you can buy a 200$ setup that you can play 15km away with little to zero interference.
      It's honestly all about knowledge, a lot of people are used to thinking radio frequencies can disrupt anything, I'm pretty sure the expensive varieties come with an encrypted signal or something

    Dagan (and yes, I'm late to this particular party), maybe it feels natural to go wireless, but how weird did it feel to be doing an episode without a guitar? I feel like I barely recognize you without a guitar and at least a COUPLE of AC/DC, Van Halen, Led Zeppelin riffs being played throughout. You're the absolute best m8! Cheersa

    Beware if you play bass some wireless systems will not work right with basses that are either 100% active or just have an active preamp and the reason for this is the stereo jack on the bass and the wireless system using the 1/4 plug to charge the unit. This is true for any guitar with active pickups like emgs and fishman fluence pickups systems

      And on acoustic/ electric setup it's a little bit of boost. Which in my case helps with a better actual acoustic sound. Less volume on the guitar and using a BBE mini sonic stomp next to the P A. Cleaner clearer sound is more like a miked guitar. Used on both 6 and 12 string for awesome live sound in my opinion. And both my acoustics are cheap Chinese junk. But I get a lot of positive comments on my acoustic sound.

      I've been wireless for 15 yrs. First started with a cheap Nady. Quit that within a yr. Got AKG wireless bug system. Still use to this day. At 1 time had 7 different systems but paring them down now. Also lately got a Getaria 5.8 digital system. But that is for a cheap I E Monitor system. Ended up getting 2 cause of confusion. But it's O K cause it's a great way to mess with my pedalboard as I can put it on a table with only the pwr cord needed. A bonus I didn't think of when buying all this. What's this license thing he's talking about. You need to drive your wireless somewhere? J K people. Don't rip on my bad joke. I have legal and not so legal systems going at anytime. I never had cared at all. 1 bug system I got was the not so legal system and I've used it for over 10 yrs without interference or any radio problems. So many sold the bug cause it failed at the jack. Not a problem for me at any time so far. I do have a couple that have loose connections but still work.

My stage is generally really quiet and of course i want my guitars loud so i can have a little more dynamics in my playing and singing. Dont care if its a mono system or not P.S.       a short jack lead with a socket at one end;
      a spacer to bring the output socket further out.
      I have a short socket to jack for now and will fit a spacer as soon as the warranty on the SR runs out.

    You've never ever had a problem with a 2.4gHz wireless system? Really? You might be the only person in the world who can make that claim. All 2.4gHz systems are prone to dropouts when near other 2.4gHz signals (WIFI, Bluetooth, etc.). Some are more sophisticated and can try to compensate, jump to another channel, etc. But they all can have dropouts, and the more affordable ones frequently suffer from severe dropout problems. Some not-to-expensive systems that use 2.4gHz are decent (Boss and Line 6 for example), but these days, there are also some affordable systems coming out that use 5.8gHz instead, which is a much less crowded part of the spectrum. We'll see over time how reliable they prove to be.
