I'm not against the redesign but seeing the 1950s era logo-that would have made for an absolutely beautiful juxtaposition to the type 00 and a funky middle finger to the formality every car company seems to try to embody.
Those renders that were teased before we saw the actual concept car did it no favours. That flat ‘air conditioner’ panel at the rear in the renders is actually subtly curved and far more cohesive in the metal and the way the light bars are integrated looks great! The overall shape is of a grown up EType, chunkier and more low res, but light years more modern than even the f-type. As for the anti woke crowd upset about androgynous people in flamboyant costumes and pastel colours, Bowie did it 50 years ago, and the movies Brazil and the fifth element. They’re just upset because they associate Jaguar with tweed wearing old men and don’t want the brand to change, even though they’re not customers themselves
TBH, If we put aside all that woke stuff in the promotion, design itself looks really good...Just forget all those things and look at the car, It's like created from the solid marble, great proportions tho. Main question is how close to the original concept final production car will be
In the video I speak about the mule spy shot that may be the production model but almost two years out, who knows. At 13:54 I highlight the differences already seen.
No, sorry. The BMW logo you can at least see that it is a BMW logo, it is close to the old one, recognizable. This new Jag drag is just garbage. Not even the car fits the vision for the logo/brand - it has a HUGE HOOD for a w16 or V12, not electric. This is an aircon for nobody, not even Jag owners.
Such a good video, how does it only have 500 views?
Great video, Mike!

Bro it literally looks like a RR with a rear end AC unit 😭🙏
at 15:32 i mention all the cars it looks like including the way forgotten Chrysler / Mercedes team up - Crossfire

Yeah, I think once we actually see it, it might change some minds. It's definitely different.
