I come back to this video occasionally to remember back in 2011-2012, when "modern houses" were all the rage in Minecraft. All the "modern" style entailed was putting boxes inside of boxes, trying to get the most abstract shapes. Overall, it hasn't really aged well, but they have a special, nostalgic place in my heart! Honestly, Keralis was kind of a pioneer of the modern style.
Nobody is gonna see this but this map was the first time i played Minecraft on my own computer. Whenever I see the houses you built, tears will come out of my eyes and remember the fun i had with this map

I soon applied to your server, and I am now one of the oldest still active players on your server! This video gave me goozebumps, so many memories :D I remember when the warps was called like "build1" and "build2". I am so thankfull for Beachtown, without Beachtown, there would be no WoK, and I would most likely never have been where I am now when it comes to minecraft.
I remember this. i first heard about you when "Buraczek" recommended you and your builds. You gave a tour of this city are you were really proud of that ( 9:42 ) building then also.
Oh the memories... I was there when you were developing that world, and you only had 2,000 subs! Your works there were what inspired me to play minecraft then, and although I do not play anymore, I still watch your vids to explore all the creative content you have to give, your channel has been truly inspirational Keralis, amazing stuff!

I got to admit that back in the day, like 4 years ago, I replicate all of your firsts builds, or at least I try. The hotel, the cinema, the little houses of color, the ones in the coast, the Mcdonalds, the green apartment (I failed in that one), the mall (I failed in that one too) the nightclub, etc. But I was kinda obsessed; I was trying to copy exactly all of your creations, and by exactly, I really mean it: the distance between the buildings, the roads of cobble stone, the beach, the inside of the buildings... And all of that was by pausing the videos over and over again to get every detail. As you can imagine that took me a lot of time, and now that I saw this video in my subscription box it brings me a lot of nostalgia lol. If you think that I was sick, I totally understand you. I don't play Minecraft anymore because of college and all that stuff, but thank you, Keralis, for bring me a looot of fun when I was younger :), and sorry too, for copy and steal your creations, it was never my intention to get credit off you or somehow offend you or something like that. :c I just wanted to kinda get this off my chest. (sorry for my english)
Keralis really introduced me to the world of modern minecraft buildstyles, and he basically created the foundation for the modern buildstyle, that we still see to this day, 6 years later! This was such a feel trip for me, because he really defined an important life chapter for me, a creative life chapter which actually is the reason i now am soon starting my architecture studies. Isn't that kinda crazy Keralis? haha. This for me was insanely nostalgic and made me happy as one of your earliest subscribers - all the way back to your apartment building ;)
This might be 7yrs late but I remember following your early lets builds the retro modern houses were fun to build. I was on console so I was even more limited on features and had to improvise some of your designs. I then became a builder on the WOK server. However with all the MC updates I couldnt keep the texture packs and so I stopped. I still love to build in MC on console and am slowly building a town. Thank you Keralis for all the inspiration and the lets builds

You own the nicest builds ever, Keralis. You are an inspiration to me; ever since I came across Minecraft and your channel, I never stopped building modern homes via console edition. My largest build is on the 360 and it’s an neighborhood with a park(forest, track,) complexes, stores of all sorts.
I'm pretty sure you were the one who inspired me to build in this style when I first started minecraft. I've been building for 2-3 years starting on Xbox. I moved to PC, joined a build team, built fantasy. Thanks for the inspiration that led me into greater things. I quit Minecraft, but since I'm trying to become an artist, it really has helped me think 3 dimensionally.

I remember using the hotel and apartment complex in my world back on 1.2.5 and retrofitting elevators in them. The apartment was the hardest to figure where to put the elevator. Good times :)
The first video I ever watched of yours was the modern house series #1 I Believe and I found you completely randomly cause I was 13 and wanted to make a cool house on me and my brothers survival world. Been watching ever since, albeit off and on. A huuuuge trip down memory lane.
This was so fun to watch! And I made that lighthouse, lol! I love he set the pets free after six years. :) But I think the dogs were still obeying a sit command, haha! I love these builds.
as for first houses, you're pretty damn pro. My first "house" was a big cobblestone box with a wooden roof and a square cobblestone tower on it. it was also repaired waaay too many times (due to me constantly being blown to pieces by creepers. both inside and outside the house). I neither knew how to find Iron or other resources than coal, so when I were lucky enough to own armor, then it was only leather and all my tools were stone or wood. Pretty crappy right? I have luckily gotten way better. There's a single video on my channel that shows it, if anyone is interested. If I'm lucky enough to having Keralis reading this and/or checks out the video, then I'm just gonna say that I have a WoK application coming up. And I am 100% certain that Keralis is gonna like it.
I don't know if this idea would ever take off. But, it would be cool if you did a revisit series, where you take your best old designs and try and make them better and more to your current building style. I'd love it.

Videos on this map were the first Minecraft videos I'd ever watched, these got me into Minecraft! (in fact, the first world I ever loaded was this)

That happens sometimes with old worlds, temples spawn in in pre-spawned chunks. Those sounds were guardians then.
