Big respect for using your bike to the fullest. 15,000 is a great milestone. With regular maintenance, you could easily pass 100,000 on this bike.

Appreciate that. I think so too. There are a few other things I got to do for it but nothing I can’t do myself. Just waiting on a day off. I’m very attentive to the chain as well as oil changes.
I would love to see this bike with 100k

Good morning! I have a 2024 Ninja 650 and I live in Florida! The heat does suck at stop lights but if feels so good in the wind riding by the beach! I hit 1,000 miles on my bike recently so I’ll do a 1k review video soon. Love your content and I’m going to try to start posting more motovlogs. We’ve been mostly just posting entertaining shorts. My wife rides a Honda CBR500R. We love how upright these bikes sit and we ride for around 2-4 hours each time we go out. Ride safe City Ninja!!

Bought a 2024 Ninja 650 as my first "big" bike coming off 8 years on a Honda PCX150. I use it to commute to work here in SoCal 2x/week on the 91 and 5 freeways 15 miles each way and it just cruises effortlessly. Very comfortable with a mostly upright seating position. Trying to figure out a way to raise the bars about 1 inch, but no easy way to do (the Z650 triple/clamp/bars will bolt right on) but it is not a deal breaker. Moved the mirrors to the handlebars (with a set of Z650 mirrors and bar clamps i got on eBay for $20!) to achieve a slimmer profile since I lane-split a majority of the way. Currently wasting money replacing the plastics with real carbon-fiber composites pieces from MotoComposites as i can afford, looks beyond awesome!) Got the 1 year only flat green color scheme which looks unique and fairly uncommon. I have zero complaints, and it has run flawlessly.. No need to buy an exhaust, since this engine will not sound better nor experience much performance gains. I personally like the tucked-in under chassis exhaust, makes rear look super clean.
I was dead set on upgrading to a Honda from my PCX, but could not find a faired bike with mostly upright seating. The choice of only black or flat black on a majority of US Honda bikes was also a no-go. (check the color choices from European Honda dealers). No Hornet 750 which i would have purchased in the white/red scheme sight unseen, but it is not available in the US and if it was it probably would only be offered in flat black). I love my Ninja 650! If it got stolen or wrecked I would buy another one ASAP. No plans on "upgrading" anytime soon. Can't recommend this bike enough (especially for a beginner) since you will not outgrow it like the Ninja 400/500, CB500F, MT-03, etc.

Hey Matthew! Great video. I recently upgraded my T32s to the Road 6s and I can confidently say they are the best tires I've ever had. They increased my confidence in cornering significantly and they are supposed to be tops in the wet.. They do cost a bit more but I believe they're worth it. Plus they are supposed to go at least 10K miles provided one keeps them properly inflated. I run 36/42 front/rear. Also, have you been maintaining your chain? It might be time to replace that as well. My dealer tells me that 15K is about the typical life of a properly cleaned/lubricated/tensioned chain. Also, check your sprockets for wear; most people change these with a new chain too. Steve from S. Oregon.

    • @CityNinja650
      @CityNinja650  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

@@rileylofin7653 I wouldn’t go with the more expensive 650 either. Some might argue that it’s important to have abs for a new rider but I don’t think it’s a make or break.
As far as which one to get also keep in mind Insurance if money is a major concern. Me personally I’m keeping my 650 for life. I love the bike but a lot of people sell them to upgrade after a while. Resale value and overall resell ability is something to consider as well.
Like you can sell a 650 to a beginner, intermediate and advanced rider.
Can’t really do that with a 400. Only new riders and people wanting a track bike will go for them. Idk if the 500 would be the same or not.
Honestly (personally)between the 500 and 650 I would go with the 650. After all this time in the bike I’m not bored. I do want more power sometimes but that’s just me being greedy. I feel with a 400 or 500 I would feel that a lot more.
Also consider where you live. I live close to Pittsburgh and have all kinds of riding situations. City, highway, interstate, farm roads. For the interstate I wouldn’t wanna be on anything less then a 650. And that’s extensive time on it too. Not just getting on and off.
I do long trips where I’m on it for 5 hrs and I definitely wouldn’t wanna do that for long.

I noticed with my new gloves I feel a lot more vibration. The other ones were thick winter gloves so it’s probably why I didn’t feel it to much. However now I do like I said.
I do feel a little in my feet as well. Good boots help a lot with the vibration.
The 650 is a parallel twin and they do naturally vibrate.

@@CityNinja650 tell me one more thing, i was checking another review, and guy said that from 5000 rpm vibrations are getting higher from that point, how it's for you?

@@okami_linux_gaming the bike does vibrate and higher rpm’s does make it more noticeable. That’s just because it’s a parallel twin. I would say however if you’re wearing the right gloves like you should be it’s very hard to notice.
Only time it bothers me is when I’m doing a roadtrip and in the bike for 6+hrs straight.

Just get you a scooter for winter and dashing, better on gas and less wear and tear on your Ninja. Scooters dont mind being abused too, they take a beating and GY6 parts are super cheap.

That’s honestly a good idea. Since this video I have a new plan on getting the car legal. But, if I can’t that is definitely an option to consider. I’m sure I could find something on marketplace. Hopefully reasonable. I don’t know to much about them tho. Any recommendations?

    • @planetphatness

@CityNinja650 just search Gy6 or 150cc, they can keep up in city traffic plus easily moddable, tons of aftermarket parts and cheap. They top out at about 50/55mph but with some decent modifications can hit 70mph.

@planetphatness thank you for the info. Ima do some digging. It’s definitely an option I’m willing to consider. Honestly that’s enough power and speed I would need. Since it’s winter I’d only be going to work. Most of which is back roads

The point of getting a loud exhaust system is so the motorists can hear you, because people don't always pay attention.

Guys, I know a 650 sounds cool and fast and you think it'll sound good but this man is lying to himself... 650s are wayyy too slow.. do yourself a favor and if its your first bike get a 600 and if you're looking for an upgrade and you're comfortable already, get a 1000 and quit being scared... this coming from a guy whos first bike was a ninja 650.
