Thank you all for watching! I really enjoyed making this review. That is quite a set to accommodate for shooting 😂. And yes, the train does fit on your regular LEGO tracks.
0:53 no, they are not "bringing back" the train, it always existed. This is just a case of Lego consumers being soid out by Lego and a modern luxury train company marketing divisions to push their rebranding in a partnership nobody needed for a more than century-old train. These cars need the iconic CIWL logo they have always had, nothing else. This set just makes me angry, it serves no clear purpose, is outrageously overpriced for the stuff you get, even for Lego standards. And they are too lazy to even look up European capitals, next to București, München is also not written correctly. Not that city names classically have any place on that car. Check out the Mould King 12025 Orient Express for half the price - and about four times the value. It is simply insane how Lego is being left behind by the competition.
@@Ilumenix Then you are obviously part of the target group: people who don't care about history and LEGO trains and have way too much money at their hands.
The hidden gem in the one cart I guess is a reference to the Johnny Thunders sets since the fan designer is a fan of the sets and one of the minifigures is an updated Pippin Reed
Hi! What you missed to mention: 1) The design of the locomotive and the tender do not have anything to do with the Ideas original 2) Curved golden prints on the slopes of the lcomotive cauldron 3) Motorization is no problem, but the Lego designer was not able to build it 🤣 3) Price much too high 4) 3 wrong spelling of the cities on the waggons, also "Munchen" and "Bucharest". This is what Lego calls quality ensurance. 5) The coupling pieces on the locomotive look disgusting. - Compared to the Mould King train I bought 2 weeks ago including 2 motors, a remote control, a circle of tracks tracks and an evaporator the one presented here is a groaner. The train by MC is better in quality, functions and price the lego train is a toy for children of 4 years and older.
i think it resembles the look of the train in the new mission impossible film which could mean they were trying to make some extra money off of that and i would have actually paid lego to put a From Russia with Love reference in.
This set is a huge miss. It’s comprised as a display piece as the loco is under-scale and under detailed for the coaches. It’s compromised as for LEGO train systems, as the designers were either disingenuous or too lazy to provide a ready solution for motorization. For $300 it should INCLUDE necessary electronics and motors to actually move on the L-gauge tracks it will accommodate. Instead, there’s 100’s of pieces for a display stand. This is pure sell-out by the Ideas designers.
Also it's has One Novel based on Dat it's called Murder on the Orient Express by: Agatha Christie it's telling us of Continue Adventures of Hercule Poirot
I love the art deco design on the interior. Makes me really want a great gatsby theme for Lego

I love trains and don’t have the budget to get the Emerald Night so this is a day one for me.
Well i think that you could buy used one or just part out one for less than 400€/$ which is the prize of this set.
@@justthink1616 I haven’t looked into those options yet but I was planning on getting the Orient Express anyway.

👏 👏 👏
I was going to point out this. Someone really didn't do their research before making this video!
Stay mad idc I'm buying it still 😂
@@Ilumenix And people like you sir are the reason we will keep getting second rate overpriced crap!

It looks cool, but I wish the engine was bigger and motorized
Question: will this train fit into the lego city train tracks?
Yes it will
It will, but have fun pushing it
@@backonpro5679 Thanks mate
I see no resemblance to the designer's build. It looks a lot more like the Hogwart's Express in blue.
Minifigures remind me of characters from the Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie
Still got my emerald night. Cant wait to those coaches with it 😌
This. Unfortunately $300 is a high price to pay for 2 new coaches to support a egacy locomotive.

Imagine if the Hogwarts express had these portions.

L train München and Bucharest are awfully misspelt
Very nice set, but once again, not as good as the orange final fan submission- it lacks the same presence of the original engine.

Saw some videos, it does look like the typical train motor struggles to push it. I wonder how it would do with just one passenger car
And yet the most recent hogwarts express isn't this is practically a recolor of it
Ngl the locomotive looks great imo
I don’t really get why people say it’s under scaled, it just looks like a shorter locomotive
official designer team says”it just too heavy for our motor”
@@expertfaun11492 Yup. So why even bother making it L-gauge compatible? So all the preschoolers with a spare $300 can push it around Duplo style?
No motors, huge price (and wrong engine design) - no purchase 👎
If I don't get this for Christmas, I'm definitely gonna make this a high pick for January 1st
Wer dieses Set unbedingt haben will, darf sich an den Kosten für den Motor nicht stoßen.
still waiting for lego to make more lego castle sets
Colours are too dark imo, would have liked sand color or something on the base,
Motorized or not.....that engine is poor.
I hope they take a bath on this pig.
