In my mind that was some kind of algal bloom or something, so that planet had life for a while. If you're wondering what pulled Jupiter out of the inner solar system, it was Saturn which migrated inwards alongside Jupiter, and migrated back out, taking Jupiter with it. I'm guessing that the planets followed each other because of an orbital resonance or something?

So a g type star of of G2 with higher metallicity would be of a higher mass as the suns mass is considered more in line with later g type stars (think G5) our sun has comparably low metallicity to other similar stars and also will live 1 billion years less than expected because of it.
