Please keep exploring old abandoned Minecraft servers, it is so interesting to see how minecraft has changed and the forgotten history of its older players. Definitely one of your best videos, hope it becomes a series. Keep up great content! P.S Thank you for putting subtitles in every video, makes the viewing experience for me even better!
6:43 This just reminded me of the one time I thought Herobrine was real and in my game, it was because I started a new word with the "bonus chest" option enabled and I didn't understand what it was, so I got scared when I found this random chest and thought it was from Herobrine
this video is like an ancient archivist showing you the constructions and lore of places that existed before time, but the person who they're talking to is a gen z with adhd
I highly appreciate you taking the time to showcase these "forgotten" servers. It's not only nostalgic to watch minecraft in alpha/beta, but it's also very interesting to see how building has progressed as minecraft developed. I mean I have difficulty concentrating on videos in general, but I was glued to the screen throughout this entire video! Please do more of these videos!
Oh man that's crazy, I've been looking for this server for a long time and thought they had been offline for years. I recognized that spawn immediately, I used to play here occasionally when I took breaks from 2b2t in 2012-2014 until I was banned for cheating.
I loved going on old servers, finding abandoned bases, taking a few armour pieces and only what i needed to survive so i could go out and explore other long lost relics
its only natural. its like life and death. every server will die out one day but its best we have the best time on our favourite servers before they die out
I started playing Minecraft in 2018 but watched content about it since 2015 this gives me chills to see old worlds/servers like that still intact (most of the time).
I am on a nostalgic binge myself playing Minecraft Xbox One edition. The villages are so rare but the world I loaded up has water monuments everywhere and 3 mansions within a 5,000 block radius. It's crazy. This was before the ocean update . For some reason the abandoned mineshaft chests are empty. I hope that isn't the case for all loot cuz I would be screwed out of getting any saddles.
The old and abandoned Minecraft servers are kinda like virtual liminal spaces in a way, because the sheer emptiness and lifeless nature of them give off that eerie feeling as a result. As if the players who once occupied and roamed the servers just suddenly disappeared and left everything behind untouched.
ngl the folkhack server kinda made me cry it feels so nostalgic and so cozy and the fact people stil ltake care of these old worlds and still build on them fills my heart with so much warmth.
Fantastic work on capturing the old Minecraft experience, I am glad there’s still history around to look at and study how creative people were. Being an old Minecraft player myself, I would often go into creative plot creation and build a diamond fortress as a kid.
I never thought I would see builds that use less than 5 block types look this good. I'm always using at least 15 types just to feel unique to my builds. I am truly fascinated seeing this I kid you not even after playing 10+ years.
When I was 12, I used to play on hacked clients with a script injector, and absolutely demolish servers with my friends. It was really fun in the moment, but after looking back we really messed up... This was 2013, and I think about whether or not those owners were ever able to recover old world saves. Anytime I see a anarchy server like the first one in this video, I can't help but wonder if we forced a server or two's hand to become one of these.
it means so much more when someone actually puts the time in to build, and not just use auto build, and it's just so amazing at how much time and effort someone has put into that
looking at all this from old minecraft, it makes me yern for simpler times, the days that i would rush home from school to play minecraft with my best friend, those were the days, RIP young me, and RIP old school minecraft
loved the vid, very cool and just overall chill idk i liked it. Would be cool if u make more chill and slow content like this. Also was interesting to see things from this early of the internet, the thing with the big youtuber's base finding was very cool! i would never expect myself knowing that. This may not target ur main audience but i hope u will still make more vids like this!
Honestly an amazing video. Really enjoyed the way you kinda immersed the viewer into such a quaint but interesting space. Props to your fantastic guides as well! All the best and take care!
This brings a feeling of joy knowing that people are conserving og builds and works. This is just giving me old bedrock and 360 vibes. Love the nostalgia from watching zman walk into old houses.
I love this series, especially the last server. Having some OG players or whoever is imformed to tell the story of these decades old server is awsome... I always wanted to have such experience in person but I could never... Great video mate!
This is actually so interesting ! I truly hope you will continue this type if content even though i dont think it will be as popular as the other ... Anywaus, very good stuff ! The video was like watching a time capsule or museum or something. Loved to hear these tales of people lore hunting/history hunting in abandonned servers and these guys that got servers for litteral years... Amazing amazing video ! ❤
If Nixiom’s WoW themed base was indeed built in 2012, that was around the Cataclysm expansion. He could’ve built it to resemble an older raid which was a really popular raid back in the day (2004-2005), maybe Molten Core raid or something along those lines which many og WoW players including him definitely ran. I tried to analyze it and see if I could match it from when I played Cataclysm back in 2012 but I’m not entirely sure. Super cool regardless
I dont know if it is aesthetic or what about your videos, but you remind me of me playing this game in 2013. good times.. keep up with the videos. I LOVE IT !
I love how we as humans do our best to preserve history, even in video games. Humanity is still beautiful even though we’re acting ugly right now. Be Smoove Beautiful Humans! I’m finna smoke and go to bed.
I'm into Minecraft since december 2010 and I remember watching TH-cam let's plays all night long, when I discovered it. I bought the game in Aplha, because at Beta it was going to get a bit more expensive, and even created a PayPal account specifically to buy Minecraft. I remember some of the oldest quirks in the game, and also I had an idea of flower pots and trapdoors. I made some basic drawings on paper, but didn't knew who to contact to give my ideas back then. 💪 Minecraft for me is still a bit like then. I did not follow many updates since like 2011-2012, so many game mechanics are still new to me. Man, I still have never been to End, never spawned Wither. I know a bit what to expect, but that's it. I sometimes use chunkbase, but I lately I feel like it's ripping me off of the world exploration part, so am considering to stop using it at all. What's the point in logging into the world only to tick some points on the map and be gone with it in a few hours? Anyway, sorry for this rant. It was cool to see some really old stuff on the server, especially that I can remember similar things myself.
Great exploration 👍 It got me thinking about old internet friends. The server I frequented is lost to time now; even the forums & map renders are gone 😢 thousands of friendships & untold hours of creativity, erased, just like that. 2010 - 2012 was an era of sincerity & optimism. If only we had thought (& fought) to preserve it.
Its usually hard for me to focus on one thing for more than like 20 mins (bc adhd n stuff) but this got me super hooked for some reason, really cool video! I couldve honestly watched another 1 or 2 hours of this, it's so interesting to see what people built back in 2012 and their ideas n plans
Great video. I know this video didn't perform very well compared to some of your other videos, but I would like to see more if possible. Please keep up the high quality videos, don't chase the trends and views, do what you want to do.
I love these old school lore servers but its also sad seeing them dead. Its like those abandoned cities that you see occasionally that were once full of life and fun and are now just a time capsule.
This was a genuinely fantastic and heartwarming video. It was really chill the entire time, I loved it. More like this would be so cool. Thank you for making this!
bruh….im 24 and seeing this makes me feel 54😂💀 last time i truly played minecraft was between 1.7 and 1.8. i remember coming back and seeing all this new shit added and was so confused. wild
*cough* I may or may not have left Vatican City unfinished for the past... 8 years or something. At least you didnt have to see my godawful obsidian/sandstone build which was the first house in Vatican. I tore that horror down when I started the reimprovement project, something like 4 years ago lol
I wish I could remember the server I played 2011-2013. It had big ben and other giant building. I'm assuming that era because that is when my username was created, tho could be earlier. I've never seen a server like it since. The buildings were massive.
6:45 my world got corrupted just after the wolves update when I tried to update Minecraft. I remember a bunch of my torches kept going missing before this.... lol Huge world, major loss.
I never played on a server with other people before, and this video makes me kind of sad to see so many of them just,.... abandoned. I guess human history repeats itself even in games like this.
this was actually a huge W video bro.
Thank you ❤️
i think the same

Seeing old minecraft even thpugh i wasnt there feels so nostalgic
Seeing old minecraft builds just feels so cool

I love it when zman uploads because I stop thinking about that family I ran over in 2005
I will not.
i have become death, destroyer of families
Don’t let this distract you from what “jshlatt” did in 99
How is your comment 10 days old, while this video is 9? 🤯
