Thank you for rescuing this Cuda. Interesting method to free up the frozen drum brakes. Great job guys.

Pretty cool way to get it unstuck.
Also I didn’t know they had reverse thread lug nuts on these cars.

Having owned three six pack cars that were Factory Originals... This is the first one I've seen of the 440 version that has front drum brakes. Hopefully you will give some further shots of this car as it progresses

Lemon Twist V code 440 Six Pack. That thing is rough, but it's rare and totally worth restoring.

i have seen them locked up the easiest way i have found is just cut the center of the drum out right aroun the lugs and then you don't have to worry about the linings stuck to drum. not trying to tell you how to do your job just one way i found that was easy and quick if you have a torch great find hope it works out for you. sometime in the not so far away in the future there will most likely be 3 40x100 buildings of 67-69 barracudas possibly for sale and several other buildings of parts

Just take the spindle cap and nut off and bearing next time. Then smack the drum back and forth a few times. Put the bearing and nut back on and it should then roll.

Exactly! Who are these goombahs? I don't think you can get those finned 11 x 2-1/2 or 3 rear drums anymore. There are other was to remove the drums than by destroying them. And why are they using the forks anywhere near those rocker gills? Just because it's rusting away, you don't need to destroy it any worse than it already is, to "save" it.

Strange how that was sitting like that beside the road, those are extremely expensive where I live in any shape.i had a 72 challenger Rallye with heavy duty drum brakes all way around,it stopped good even with the 440 in it.

From the paint inside the wheel well it was a factory Lemon Twist car??

  • @user-tn1hk6zm2freedom

Looks like most people never heard of a brake drum puller? Lol. Just take the wheel bearing nut off and puller the drum with a drum puller. Easy.

Whoever left it out to rot should be slapped upside the head.

But, but, they were planning on restoring the Cuda.
      - During the 80s and 90s I was on the hunt for a Cuda. Every time I spotted a Cuda , the owner was planning on restoring it. At one house, a suburb of Oklahoma City, a small tree was growing through the engine bay (no hood). It’s sad.

      Wheel dollys on grass huh?
And then how do you get it on the trailer? And strapped down? And delivered?
We did it the right way, wheel dollys undoubtedly the hard way, those things suck on anything but perfectly smooth concrete
