Happy to have come across your channel. I appreciate how you detailed your experience slowly, clearly and succinctly. I am curious which other countries you considered before deciding on immigrating to Canada. Could you also share the steps and challenges during and after the Express Entry application. Did you secure a job prior to landing in Canada or start a job search upon arrival? Any major shocks with respect to jobs/income/cost of living?
Hey Soraya, I'm glad you saw found the video I uploaded on job searching. I'll respond to the other questions you posted around job searching over there. I've lived in Europe before so it was part of our considerations including the USA. I'll definitely share more videos on the before, during and after of the express entry, moving, arrival, 3, 6, 12 months and beyond of living in Canada etc. There's too much to mention in the comments section, so please stay tuned to my channel :)

@@busi.global it's just im a 24 years old I have a ok vehicle and getting an average salary... Life is ok but I'm wanting more for my self and wanting to experience more things.. I'm sure you know how bad the corruption and crime are in South Africa... So I'm just abit unsure if leaving the Devil you know for the one you don't is a good option
@@rpfishtanks8293 oh yeah, I totally get it. It can be scary to leave everything you know for the unknown. I was 25 when I first left SA to live abroad, it was scary but worth it.

Hi I just found this video. Me and my wife are in the process of immigrating to Canada, and we were told that proof of pension is accepted as proof of funds? Could this have changed in the 7 months since you made this video?
Hi Gethardt, we went through the process around 3 years ago and pension funds were not accepted as proof of funds unless you already had the amount paid out to you. Best place to check for the latest info is the immigration site through canada.ca

I made a video where I speak about the cost of living, I think it will help answer your question, you can check it out here: th-cam.com/video/oMdRv0mh0e4/w-d-xo.html if I remember correctly from a search I did on Google a few months ago, the average salary in Canada is around 40k per annum. I think searching for averages for your type of job will give you more realistic numbers for your industry and line of work.

Times have apparently changed because of a backlog caused by the pandemic. Can’t remember the exact timing but we received ITA within a week or two after the first draw that took place with our Express Entry profile in the pool.

I have been following your You Tube channel about moving to Canada.
My name is Moipone Khame, we are based at n Pretoria Gauteng.
We started the process of moving to Canada in 2018, but dropped due to other reasons. We restarted it again at the beginning of the year with the Agency called Canadian Visa Experts and they are asking for approximately 6000 US dollars. We find it to be extremely expensive. I therefore wanted to find out which Agency did you use and if this amount from our agency is making any sense??
Your urgent response will be greatly appreciated, before we loose our money unnecessarily.

I took the tests in-person, I don't know if they're available to take online. Check on their website for all available options, I added the link to their website in the description of the video.

Glad you found the video informative Andrea. We received ITA after the next draw that took place after we got in the pool, so it was around a week. The overall process for us was roughly around 14 months, it could have been much shorter honestly, we had a number of unnecessary delays.

Another question regarding verification of qualifications... Did you not do the SAQA form?
No, we didn't fill in a SAQA form. Our qualifications were verified by an organisation called WES: www.wes.org you contact the institutions you studied in and sealed academic records are sent to WES who will do the verification of your qualifications also stating what your qualifications are equivalent t in Canada. They are also recognised by the Canadian government's immigration office.
@@busi.global Thank you so much for sharing. I came across your channel and found it so helpful especially since you also went to UP :-D. I also like how you used an agency but mentioned that it isn't necessary as everything is on the Canadian immigration website. I think most of us who are in the process/contemplating it often think we need to use one just to be safe so its good to hear how not necessary it is.
Anyways, after reading through all the comments to make sure this question wasn't asked elsewhere (would hate to duplicate it for you), I would like some clarity on the academic records needed. I am also using WES for my ECA and they use the words "academic record" and "academic transcript" interchangeably. I've sent a request through to UP and they've responded with a form I need to fill and that's when I noticed that these are two separate things for which there are separate fees associated, at least according to UP. I am not sure if this was the case when you did your ECA but if it was, could you please shed light on which of the two WES actually needs? I will also ask the MIE consultant that responded to my query but figured another opinion wouldn't hurt :-) Thanks a mil!
I just came back to this video, i am actually bingeing on this channel today. I am from Lesotho and you are the closest person to me here on YT bc of location- SA and LS .i feel like i am going to go through almost the same processes as u did for when you were moving.
i just finished my bachelors, i was studying in India and i wanted to hear how i am supposed to go about the police clearance thing. or i will request for it when i am about to start the process of moving or it is something i can work on now while i am still here in India. Same thing as academic record that is sealed, do i ask for it when i am about to start the application process or i can ask for it now before going back to Lesotho? With the police clearance, I recommend you first find out how the process to get it in India goes, then based on that make a note on when you’d request it. You don’t need it to create your Express Entry profile but would need it after you receive your Invitation to Apply. It’s one of the last things you’d need to get BUT, don’t wait till you’ve left India to request it just in case there’s issues with getting it. The evaluation of your studies is done by an organization called WES (wes.org) and would be valid for 3 years so you could go ahead and get it done as soon as you know you will be applying since it’s valid for such a lengthy period of time 💙

Do they need the proof of funds for both of you guys or they need it individually
The have a table on their website outlining how much they require based on the number of people that will be on the application. It’s under the proof of funds section in the requirements of the Express Entry program for Federal Skilled Workers.

Hi there, we are seriously considering moving however our age is against us since we are 38 years old and was told by our agency that we need a job in order to get in and recommended Sasketchewan which would not be ideal for our young kids. It seems like a dead end, are you able to share which agency you have used please..
Hi Pranesh, I don't have an agency to recommend. We had a terrible experience and wasted money. I'd suggest you search through the Canadian government's immigration website and look through the requirements of different programs yourselves to see if there's something that makes sense for your situation. Hi Lelo, the government has been prioritizing people who are already in Canada temporarily due to travel restrictions because of the pandemic. The last draw for FSW Express Entry was in Dec and we don’t know when the next one will be. When things open up again they’ll likely have a draw. Best thing to do would be being in the pool already ready for a draw.
I found a program that’s me for but they still require that I have a valid job offer, how do I do this?
Look for a job! You can start by updating and optimizing your LinkedIn profile to help you find jobs. I have videos on the channel that can help you optimize your profile. Indeed is another great platform to try find jobs.

Hey busi, how long did your visa take to arrive from the time that you went to apply for your visa?
We applied for PR and got temporary Visas that allowed us one time entry to Canada to sort out our PR cards. That Visa took a couple of days to get after we received confirmation of PR.

What are my chances of qualifying to relocate without a degree, but as a skilled labourer?
I think it would be very difficult. Your best bet would be to study something (even a certificate or diploma) in Canada, get a postgraduate work permit, and then after working for a year apply for permanent residency through express entry. But, it’ll be very expensive. The certificate alone could cost R150k just to study the course, never mind the living costs.

Hey Busi. What was your CRS score? Also, how old are you? I'm going to be 32 when I apply, must estimated score will be 497. Will that win?
Your estimate score looks good, I really can’t say if it will get you in or not because the scores that get in change with every pool selection based on the candidate that have submitted and what their scores are. So it will vary, it’s best to just be in there. I was between 27 & 28 when we went through the process. I don’t think knowing what my score was back then will help you in anyway at this point. Go for it with the points you have.

Which is the best state to live in, in Canada?
I’ve only ever lived in Ontario Nicole. It would be very biased of me to say it’s Ontario 😂 I’d say research the different provinces and pick the one you feel makes the most sense for you.

Do you need a degree for express entry?
Depends which program you you move under with the Express Entry. The Trades Skills program wouldn’t necessarily need a degree but whatever diploma or certification required for the trade skill you have experience in. The Federal Skilled Worker program I moved under generally needs a university degree. I’m not an immigration consultant though, it would be best to consult one of you can’t locate the info you’re looking for on the government’s website.

I would have used emigrating if I was mentioning where I’m from in thumbnail e.g. “Emigrating from South Africa”. Immigrating vs. Emigrating, you can Google the difference.
My partner is a Chef and prior to COVID we wanted to try through the express entry visa for her but now we see these amounts needed eeer it’s rough
Yah hey, it's best to plan for the move over a couple of years so you can try save for it.

We're not citizens in Canada, only Permanent Residents, we're sill South African citizens.

@@diksm9917 tax here is not as high as it is in SA, I’m in Ontario and every provinces tax is different (you can Google amounts for different provinces).
Your tax money works for you here, you see it in the services the government provides the people. I speak more about it on a two part video that’s on the channel where I talk about things to know before moving to Canada.
