HELLBRINGER'S REALM

Known ages ago as Elandorr, the continent now bitterly called Hellbringer in whispered, terrified voices was originally settled by humankind thousands of years ago. However, before those times, it was the bloody battlefield of a never-ending war between the Heavens and Hell, angels against demons, ever since the world came to be. The very land itself suffocating under the all-engulfing violence and destruction unleashed by both sides in their eternal conflict. Celestial blood and demonic ichor alike corrupting and splitting the ground below with every kill.
Until one day, for unknown reasons escaping all but themselves, the demons retreated and vanished seemingly once and for all, back to the Hell they had crawled out of. Seemingly victorious, the angels left the land behind as well, flying back to the Heavens to recover and rebuild. An unexpected yet most welcome peace was established across the darkened lands of the former battlefield, as the young and fragile human race was beginning to spread and build their civilization across the slowly healing continent. Multiple cities were founded across Elandorr, with the legendary Stormshield Fortress at its very center.
Yet as it would turn out, the peace and quiet enjoyed by the young nation was never meant to last. From the deepest bowels of the underworld, ashes and flames seemed to ignite the land again as countless demons, abominations and eldritch horrors clawed their way out of every cave, fissure and pit under the ground, forming massive armies to conquer the land, all led by the Seven; greater fiends of unprecedented might and evil who would stop at nothing to bring Elandorr to a violent and horrifying end.
For the longest time, angels were nowhere to be seen, content with letting someone else fight their endless battles for them, until some of them took pity upon the mortals perishing by the thousands every day. An unexpected alliance between the two groups eventually resulted in a bittersweet victory. The Seven were sealed away in the depths of the land, the demons pushed back to Hell... but human civilization had very nearly come to an end. Most of its cities burned to the ground, crushed to dust, corrupted into horrible lairs of evil by their invaders. Only Stormshield and some villages here and there stood free, the survivors banding together to survive another day...
…Until now.
As humans have barely gotten used to a relatively normal life, evil rises once more. The seals barely holding the Seven away from the destruction of all things are weakening as a lone dark, cloaked figure walks the land once more, scheming again against the world which had brought him into existence. There would be no angels to stop him and the armies of humankind were long dead and dust. The only ones standing in his way would be the few daring, bold adventurers who would be courageous or foolish enough to make a stand and oppose the forces of Hell in their darkest hour.
