The watcher ending has to be tied with the evil anvil watcher lore
The Watcher lore is actually a holdover from the Evolution SMP, which the fans (and Martyn) carried over to the Life series.

Jimmy's reaction is honestly the same as mine when I saw it the first time. It's so good that I spent an hour(I did some other stuff too but I don't know why it took such a long time) decoding the messages in Anguished Memories lol!
