    Extremely helpful. I'll keep this in mind about the number of chips found and as you've demonstrated here the problem chips(s) might be located far away from that number on the board. Subscribed and I'm looking through your other videos now too. Thanks for the helpful video!

    19:11 friend at this point. Which points you press with the tester to override the top chain of chips and the tester in which mode you use it for this procedure. Sorry for so many questions in all your videos, but I'm really obsessed and need to learn!

    64 ASIC on an S17+ is the equivalent of a -1 on an S19. Should always start with the dichotomy method until you located the faulty chip whenever encountering a 64 ASIC

    The tester reads total logic chips present and responding to voltage. You still have to identify the chip that is giving an issue. 64 doesnt mean 64. It means 64/total.

    Are you applying 20V the entire time you are checking voltages? wouldnt the board heat up if its under power or is it fine because its not hashing?

    Excellent work, one question, what microscope do you use?

    • @asicrepaircanada159
      @asicrepaircanada159  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I use an AmScope microscope. In my opinion they are the golden standard for repair microscopes. When I went from a USB microscope to an optical one it was night and day as far as image clarity. Not cheap but well worth it in my opinion. Especially if you do it professionally or have any sort of volume.

    hello, what do you recommend to mark the hash board? It is so that they are not confused with other people hash boards. the issue is that my customer needs the mark not to be erased with the cleaning maintenance, he thinks his hash boards are being changed. Thank you

    • @asicrepaircanada159
      @asicrepaircanada159  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Personally I have a database where I enter customer info, board details, and which board belongs to which customer. That way I know which serial number belongs to which customer. I also double check before sending them back
      I also use a piece of masking tape on the board as a quick reference that I remove before sending the boards back of course.
      As for cleaning, I use air only. I don't use an ultrasonic cleaner since I find it too aggressive.
      Hope this helps.

      Can you link your recommended budget test fixture for S17+?
      Is it just a spare control board and bench power supply?
      Thanks.

    • @asicrepaircanada159
      @asicrepaircanada159  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry I thought I replied to your comment.... you can use a S17+ control board and but the test file on a SD card. That's basically what the imported test fixtures are. I think there is one hardware difference when it comes to spooling up the fans. The few tests I have done, it seems the fans were never spooling up when the test was starting. They need to so I just ended up powering the fans separately. I personally use the asic repair center tester: tester.asic.repair/

    • @hashboardrepairs7602
      @hashboardrepairs7602 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A 64 ASIC almost always results in needing to use the dichotomy method to find the faulty chip. The tester isn't usefully for this error.
