It's mainly dependent on the multilayer application process and the cleanliness of your vacuum chamber or manufacturing facility. If it's degrading with age, someone messed up at the factory!
It might just be a first surface mirror! These are high quality mirrors that have their coating on the face of the glass instead of the backside (like a standard mirror). This will give you the same "no gap" effect as a two way mirror. If you purchased it yourself then its probably just a higher quality mirror, no need to worry 😊
There are other types of mirrors that are 0% transparent (first surface mirrors). Oftentimes makeup mirrors are first surface mirrors so you can see better.
The *gap test is useless* because feminists don't know how mirrors work. The gap test can only tell you if there is a layer of glass between your finger and the reflective surface. It's really surprising how many western people, who finished school, don't know how mirrors work.

Also there is no mention of feminists in this video.
The fingernail test is not 100% accurate. My dollar tree mirror shows it's a two way mirror and so does my medicine cabinet in the bathroom by just the fingernail test. That does not mean someone is spying on you.
But... aren't you teaching people how to defeat your product? You would probably be better off looping a video with hypnotic swirls and calming voice saying some thing like "relax, that's not a two way mirror, you're just being paranoid, there's nobody on the other side, you're safe and warm and having a great day".

Sometimes the mirror can be so thin that you cannot see the double-image, or it's a first surface mirror that's 0% transparent. All very possible!
