I love the combination of Claypool and Sean. The godfather of modern avant garde and progressive sounds takes the Beatle and Plastic Imo Ono Band offspring under his wing. They are a powerful combination
this says 2017, so NEW album...?! These two amazingly enough, blew away my expectations, which was insanely high, for their music. Don't think I've been so pleasantly surprised since Mr.Bungle's 'California.'
This is a new 4 song EP featuring 4 different cover songs! That said it is an excellent way to spend 20 minutes! Plus there is another new Primus album due to come out soon!
+Michael Cristoferi excellent ep of cover versions. New Pimus album out Sept 29. First single Seven is highly influenced by 80's Crimson and is fantastic.
Amazing sounds! I just randomly came across this while looking up the new Primus album, and I'm very pleasantly surprised! I had no idea that they were working on music since the release of their first album. Claypool is a machine working on all these albums in the same year..
Thats so overwhelming good i could have blown off my sofa, man ! All songs a bliss and really done with heart and soul...and a huge brain ! A cover album that deserves to reach the first place because of its geniality...i love THE CLAYPOOL LENNON DELIRIUM more and more, the more i hear of them the more it has me in its grip...wish even to be part of this band ! That was all i ever wanted to do in music,if you know what i mean ! Thanks a loooot for sharing this EP ;)
The cover of Astronomy Domine was cool. This type of song is right up Les's alley. I think Syd Barrett and Les Claypool could have collaborated at some point (despite age gap) if Syd hadn't fried his brain.
With all those brains lying around, was anyone else kinda hoping that the "marching hammer" teeth would march right on into the cover of Rush's HEMISPHERES?
The first time I heard court of the crimson king it was on the movie children of men. I fell in love right away. Can't believe I like this version better

I would buy this in a minute if I could get it on a CD. I'm not into Vinyl been there done that. How about a SACD or Blu-ray audio,Dvd audio or even just a plain DVD with a 92 khz sample rate. Might as well go back to a analog TV. I'd even settle for a lossless Flac file. I'll never pay for an Mp3.
Won't pay for am MP3 (me either by the way) but also, been there done that on vinyl. Well, I guess you'll never have music again because vinyl is the only way most albums are coming out again. Streamers and MP3's killed CD's. Grab a turntable my man, you're gonna have to.
astronomy domine - 'a FIGHT between the blue, you once knew' not 'flight'; also he jumps in with the guitar riff too early in beginning. it's supposed to be after this drum hook, not during. still good cover. also ending on original has this disquieting feeling e major/minor/major etc. they changed it to 2 major chords. i don't like it. i know, im picky.
Michał Agsagsafsan Bare in mind that bands that cover other bands songs have a tendency to tweak their version slightly (at least respectable bands usually cover songs that way ), therefore they add a little of themselves to another's composition rather than duplicating the song ad nauseam.
actually i couldn't make it 1/2 way through astronomy domine. it is weak. i think they chose these songs so some people might think they are cool. sorry boys.
yoko was using john lennon which helped her to get known and make music. again the same with sean because he has the lennon name and john voice. this music is very bad and makes me think alot of yoko that was bad also.
If you love Astronomy Domine, I recommend listening to Voivod's cover of the song too, equally epic, beautiful.
And I dare to say, better
the walking seeds version is good also
Thanks for the recommendation. The drums are great on Voivod's version.
When I hear a smokin album on youtube I buy the album .
Me to, everyone should
0:00 Astronomy Domine
5:48 Boris The Spider
8:20 The Court Of The Crimson King
15:03 Satori
Carl_Laberfeld thx
Cantou e encantou

Instantly knew Astronomy Domine from those drums. I can never forget that song.
GOTTA HEAR VOIVOD VERSION!
Right?!? I'm just now discovering this! Better late than never.

great King Crimson imagining.
Love the King Crimson cover. That song was used In the movie "Children of Men" to great effect.
Love the cover of The Who's Boris The Spider lads!
Amazing sounds! I just randomly came across this while looking up the new Primus album, and I'm very pleasantly surprised! I had no idea that they were working on music since the release of their first album. Claypool is a machine working on all these albums in the same year..
Also a big shout out to Stephen King, this duo is his new favourite band, lovin the claypoolmation, an absolute pleasure to hear you Sean
Wow! Just wow. These covers sounds perfect. Beautiful
Cuz of the s*** that this man has been doing for the last 4 or 5 years Les Claypool is my new hero

Thanks....so awesome
Makes me want to drop acid again... :p
Bet you still haven't done acid ever! As music doesn't make you want to take acid ànd if taken it you would know
I'm hearing some Gong influence here
Les and Sean are a match made in heaven
I agree! Similar mindset and sense of humor. They mesh well.
Обожаю этот альбом
yessa love love love this
Dank!
Satori is a Japanese word. Id translate as Awakeness. Good inspiration!
Tis one way I'd describe seeing the jumping eye in that video
Absolutamente fantástica banda

Syd would be proud of you.
Excelente, belo repertório.
Эту группу мне показал чел из Мексики когда мы возвращались из Оахаки в ДФ с глубокого похмелья)))
Also, the melody of the words... Forget the words for a moment and focus on the melody coming from them. That diamond shone so bright and so crazy...
super
these are pretty good covers
LlamaKing 98 Yes.
Buenisimo
The cover of Astronomy Domine was cool. This type of song is right up Les's alley. I think Syd Barrett and Les Claypool could have collaborated at some point (despite age gap) if Syd hadn't fried his brain.
Syds issues were likely preexisting and were only brought to light from copious amounts of LSD.
Like 1000 ! 🎸🎹🤘🏻🔺️🔻⚛🎸🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
kings, a new sound on our door, game changed
and yet at the same time an old sound re imagined...game extended by extra life
If the Beatles had covered In The Court of the Crimson King, it would have sounded like this.
With all those brains lying around, was anyone else kinda hoping that the "marching hammer" teeth would march right on into the cover of Rush's HEMISPHERES?
top ten favorite..or maybe it's top 20..hmm
Piper at The Gates Of Dawn...YEAH!
My favorite 8:20
The first time I heard court of the crimson king it was on the movie children of men. I fell in love right away. Can't believe I like this version better
Better than the original? Sean Lennon singing better than Greg Lake? No fucking way.
Quieren sonar como pink floyd pero jamás le llegaran, aún que se respeta que hagan música

Is it McCartney on the drums?

This is now on CD. If you pick up the Japan version "South of Reality" (new Claypool lennon release) these 4 songs are added as bonus tracks.

Agree!
@@markrago5024 exactly. If you want a copy, go see a tribute band.
Your right, the guitar riff in the beginning ruins the buildups and the production is weak, guitars are out of tune.
actually i couldn't make it 1/2 way through astronomy domine.
it is weak.
i think they chose these songs so some people might think they are cool.
sorry boys.
bad ASS
yoko was using john lennon which helped her to get known and make music. again the same with sean because he has the lennon name and john voice. this music is very bad and makes me think alot of yoko that was bad also.
HAHAHAHAHA... THIS SONGS AREN'T FROM LENNON CLAYPOLE!!!
Esto es un plagió de pink floyd...
Es un álbum de covers 🙄
I hate to piss on everyone's parade but the Crimson King doesn't sound so special, and the vocals are weak to embarrassing.
@Claudio Alberto Martinez Diaz If that's his opinion, who cares. It doesn't invalidate anyone elses opinion.
DUDE. You know not what you say.
Huh..coming from a zappa fan lmfao
I disagree, in some ways I prefer it to king crimson
Fuck you
You csn touch these two on vocals. Perfection
