    I like the way you use your lathe. They're an extremely versatile tool if you can, or are willing to, think outside the box and start mounting your cutting tools in the chuck too :)

    Wow, that was a busy day at your workshop!

      ***** I wish I was that productive in one day but unfortunately no. It was filmed over a period of 11 days and contains 75 hours of actual work. Just staring at the damn thing and thinking how something would work was also part of it. :)

    Just great, good job, you've designed these tracks?

    • @DonnDIY
      @DonnDIY  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ruslan Suleimanov Thanks. Yes, I designed these tracks and made 3D models before started fabricating. The thumbnail is a copy of the actual model I made and hopefully the tracks will look similar to the models when finished except the paint. Decided to go another path. But all of this will be in part 4 I hope.

    Hey man,
    What the model of quad U R using? And what U can recommend? There are a lot of "China Quads" on the market and I have some doubts about them.
    Thank's in advance!

      Marack Obama I'm using 2002 Honda TRX500FA with hydraulic drive. It works pretty good, has a lot of torque and low speeds for towing and other work related stuff. I had one chinese motorcycle once. The engine was a Honda clone and was pretty good but the frame was bad, made from tin foil pretty much. I wouldn't recommend a chinese motorcycle but maybe the ATV-s are better...

    Hello, I want to repeat your work. You have drawings of the tracks? I have a question for you - as you have done an asterisk? I'm from Russia, I write through a translator so sorry for the incorrect translation :D

      @DonnDIY  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Павел Украинец Yes, I made and still have the drawings and fabricated parts accordingly. But I'm not sharing them. Sorry. :/

    Thanks for making us open our mouth, but can you tell us what type of ruber belt you used ,and from where we can get it.

    • @DonnDIY
      @DonnDIY  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's 8-9 mm used conveyor belt from a mine. I bought it secondhand. It's a good material for something like that.

    how much mony did you spend on parts

    • @DonnDIY
      @DonnDIY  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Probably up to 1,5K EUR (1.8K USD) on this prototype set, the cost would come down when fabricating parts in bulk. The purpose of this build was to prove the concept and make sure how much money was needed to build a set so I can start manufacturing these. This was my business plan a few years back. But there's no market locally due to poor snow conditions in the last 5-6 years and exporting the tracks was also not an option so these tracks only serve me at the moment. :D

      Peter Kuruc I'm setting up a website right now for the blueprints and using these blueprints and building the tracks yourself you could get a set around 700-800 dollars. I'll let you know when it's finished and ready to use! ;)

      Peter Kuruc If you'd like me to make them you should add 200 hours of labor to the price.
