Man, your channel is a "Treasure". I've just bought a guitar and I will try to play Cocteau Twins studying your videos. I'm big fan since 1987, love Robin Guthrie sound. Thank you a lot!
I really like your stuff, your passion and how you figure the songs have been played in the actual way...really creative! not easy at all to discern all the guitar lines in Cocteau Twins.
i got much respect for this recreation. helped me so much with doing my own. saved so much time, but don't have the sax. had to midi a synth to get as close as i can. but man he nailed the sax
Thank You for that video! Im addicted to Victorialand so it was very interesting to see how "simple" the songs are. Its just, put layers of layers of chords with a lot of effect pedals. Love your video! The dog walking by in the background at the end was funny. I know how it is to try to make a video with a pet at home. 😊
*DUDE!!! That was insanely good. You did Cocteau Twins justice, and when it cut to you playing the sax I knew you were about to fuck my shit UP! You can’t hear, but I am standing and applauding your efforts!*
Great sax playing too Micah, wonderful stuff all round. Elizabeth's voice is the beautiful icing on the Cocteaus cake of course! But it's great to appreciate the stunning instrumental aspect of Victorialand...and wow you do just that, thanks 👌💜
What?!? And then you pull out a sax?? teh awesoem This is my favorite CT album You're really good at this. How did it take me so long to find your channel?
Tim Foley Thanks! Yeah, it was Richard Thomas, the drummer from Dif Juz, who contributed sax, on this as well as a couple of tracks on "The Moon and the Melodies." He and Simon Raymonde actually just recently collaborated on an album.
I’ve been playing guitar for 30 years and recently came across Robin Guthrie. I’m in complete awe of his work, both with Cocteau Twins, his solo work, and his masterpieces (imo) with Harold Budd. I’m dying to learn his music. Do you have any sources for tabs? I’m looking for inspiration and Robin is it for me. I appreciate your help. Cheers
I can't believe you even got the sax, man. One of my favorites from Cocteau Twins and your version does it justice. Well done!
Thank you! :-)

Fantastic. I'm glad that even if your channel doesn't have many views you keep putting in effort.
Hey, it's a niche audience I serve; I'm just glad someone somewhere appreciates it. Thank you!
Keep it alive, keep it safe.

Wow, wonderful, the only thing missing was Fraser's vocals.

You're really good at this.
How did it take me so long to find your channel?
Excellent work. If memory serves me right, Dif Juz did the sax work on Victorialand.
Again, great work Micah.

@@micahnewman what's your favorite song on Victorialand?
@@scottherrmann1358 Probably "How to Bring a Blush to the Snow." Yours?
@@micahnewman Lazy Calm or Oomingmak.
Kudos kudos kudos kudos
AMAZING! u’d been aware of the details!
Отлично! Максимально приближено к оригиналу!
Definitely giving me the CT vibe.
I don't see a cover of Beatrix from "Treasure" on here, but if you ever get around to recording it, that would be amazing!

I just learn by ear so I don't have tabs, but you might be interested in my CT guitar tutorial: th-cam.com/video/thsq2zpgz20/w-d-xo.html
u are amazing i need the tabs
It never occured to me that that was a guitar.
and a Mogwai fan too.
Yuppers.
What effect pedals are you using?
Just the chorus, delay, and reverb effects built into Reaper, the DAW I use.
@@micahnewman Makes it so much better that you're not a gear freak and just goes to show it's the player, not the pedals!
Who gave a thumbs down!?
Someone did a very nice job singing on this: th-cam.com/video/Lv4SnUx4JvY/w-d-xo.html
You and Matt Gurley should collab (:
@@KenericTheGeneric 🙂
ohh pls don't do that to me!!!! what effects pedal do u use? where are you where do you PERFORM LIVE!
Oh, my. :-) Chorus, delay, and reverb that are built in to Reaper, the DAW I record with. I don't perform live, but thanks for asking! :-D
What the guitar effect are you using ?
I'm recording with a digital audio workstation called Reaper and using some effects patches built into it, mainly chorus, delay, and reverb.
