Arty is such a joke, I hate playing against it and I can't play with it for some odd reason.... All I want is my missions done but no you gotta play a stupid class.....
As a dota player, i think arty is equivalent to techies. Both team hates playing with and against techies. In case you don't know, techies is a hero that does nothing but plants mines which makes enemy team paranoid of stepping on them, also makes your team shorthanded because mines can't push.
honestly? what even is the point of arty in the game? most of these clips are just players playing the game normally as it should be and arty just punishing them for it. There is no counter play. They say it is to prevent camping but if players in these clips were actually camping they would not be hit by arty hahaha.... best example is 4:34 there is 0 chance of the camping T30 or BC in the back actually getting hit, but the only player actually trying to push to progress the game forward will get hit because he is the only target arty can see. It just encourages bad gameplay, if you want to stop camping design better maps. I know all this has been said a million times but it annoys me every time I see it.
You have to choose between or stun or damage. Pre-2017 arties performed hitkills (because it's a large caliber, normally the biggest caliber of its tier). Arties did it, but had longer reload, bigger recticles and lower accuracy. Because players cried about the big hits, the game developers came with the handycap of lowering the penetration, thus lowering the damage (except on open vehicles), but then had to buff the reload time, the aiming time and reducing the recticle size. Then players start crying about the handycap. People just want an easier game. And people must understand that when you enter a shooting game, you can receive shots. Some people just wanna shoot, but don't wanna get shot. I'm an arty player, and nowadays arties are just a joke, considering what it was on the past. And people keep crying about it. They say that "arty is easy to play", but when they try to accomplish the SPG-15 campaign mission, thinks that it's way hard. And then use the campaign orders to overcome the difficulty. But arty "is easy to play"... If you just want to play casual, it's a thing. If you want to be the first on your team by experience... try to be it using the "easy class". Or else you're doing nothing for your team.
I finally quit playing the game and sold my account when wg buffed arty with new crew skills. That was the final straw for me. Lost all respect for these developers
can confirm, when i was totally new to the game i was obviously trash at it and was discovering new gameplay, i ran into the missfortune of liking arty gameplay, i played arty for like a year and then started playing actual tanks, today i can get like 2000 wn8 per day but my service record still scarred from all that arty gameplay, it looks so trash and i'm considering making a new account
I've always said the problem with arty is how easy it is to aim and fire on targets. This "magic sky view" makes no sense at all. What is looking at enemy tanks? A drone? A balloon? The solution is simple : remove the sky view. Arty players will have to use the minimap and a coordinates system to aim.
Mate, that's exactly how artillery works. When I was on active duty, we had distant observers, now they have drones, that's the very principle of artillery, get coordinates, fire, get corrections, fire again until the target is obliterated. So for once, this is real.
I was playing obj.257 and i got hit by arty obj.261 for 1000hp. I don't know why for that many but fuck arty

So many players that didn't experienced the old arty hitkill capability. That's why they felt those high damage numbers so strange. (Yep. I miss the old days. My last "big hit" with and arty was on 2017, with the upper gun of the M53/M55 on Tundra, when I've done a single shot of 2000 hp damage on a HT)

Artillery definitely balances purple players. It's devilishly evil, but necessary :D
It is so bad, I resorted to using spall liner for some of my tanks if there are 2/3 arta on the enemy.
Get rid of arty 🤔 get rid of TD's, light tanks and might as well get rid of mediums as well . Cry babies are all that are left 😂😂😂😂😂😂

There isn’t much arty cover in the game these days. The cover that is there can be stunned through
