On the territory of the monastery we met a local resident - Svetlana, who offered to introduce us to the monastery, show it
and tell at least part of his rich story. I was lucky to hear everything from a person who considers the monastery a part of his life, who knows his entire long history. The history of creation, stages of construction. A story of betrayal, brutal looting and fires. The history of the patronage of the reigning persons, for which earlier on its walls were stucco bas-relief eagles. By the way, at one time the well-known noblewoman Morozova was kept in custody in the monastery. There really was information - the sea. And what’s important - there’s a lot that you won’t find on the Internet.

But the main thing on this trip was to feel the spirituality of this place, prayed by holy people for centuries. At least try.
The sensations of contact with such a historical place are indescribable.
In fact, the St. Pafnutiev Monastery is now not only a place of worship for Orthodox Christians, known far beyond the borders of Russia,
but also an architectural museum, where crowds of tourists and pilgrims flock daily.
And there is something to see! When on the river bank in front of you a white wall grows with narrow windows-loopholes, and the golden domes of the temples burn high in the sky - it's breathtaking.
The cloister was often visited by the powers that be: the great princes and kings, the elite of the Orthodox clergy. Each of them did not skimp on donations, which made it possible to finish building new churches, walls and towers.
In May 1477, St. Paphnutius died and was buried here, at the southern gate of the main cathedral of the monastery. After death, the elder was canonized and canonized, his relics are still in the place of tranquility.
The rich compound and enemies did not ignore. Twice the Borovsky monastery was ruined and burned.
The first time this happened in 1610 by order of False Dmitry II, then in 1812 during the war with the French.
But each time the Holy Borovsky monastery was restored, life went on.
With the advent of Soviet power in 1919, the brethren were expelled from their native walls, the monastery was declared a national monument.
Another 70 years flew by. During this period, the buildings were used for other purposes.
In 1942 they were retrained as Political Administration of the Western Front. And later there was an agricultural college.
And only in 1991 the Borovsky Monastery was returned to the Orthodox diocese and regained its former status.
The churches were re-consecrated, priests and parishioners reappeared in them, and ministry resumed.
What is impressive at first glance: the whole courtyard is surrounded by a high fortress wall, in which several different-sized towers are built.
Each has its own name: Round, Armory, Cook, St. George, Watchdog and Tainitskaya.
A wall was built during the 16th and 17th centuries, its thickness is not the same everywhere, an average of 4 m, a length of 673 m.
An interesting fact: blocks with frescoes of the 15th century lay at the base of the foundation
which allowed during the restoration work several local history museums to acquire fragments of murals by the icon painter Mitrofan and his assistant Dionysius.
There is a legend that previously there were underground passages from the Nativity Church, along which it was possible to get to Kaluga and Moscow.
But this was done so that the monks in solitude could overcome this non-short path, staying in prayer and not being distracted by the temptations of the world. Maybe. We saw only two entrances to the underground tunnel connecting the monastery and the wooden temple, which is located at a very impressive distance from the monastery. Old-timers said that back in the days of the USSR, the passage was accessible for passage, but because of frequent landslides and emergency conditions, the entrances were blocked.
Many believers come to the Borovsky Monastery in the hope of the help of an old man - a local confessor, Father Blasius.

Интересное видео, спасибо. Давно мечтаю побывать в Боровское, но как то не удаётся, много где хочется побывать , но к сожалению нет машины и прицепиться не к кому, поэтому езжу где доступно общественным транспортом, а на это нужны дополнительные дни . Спасибо

Мощная крепость , но построена не на холме , а в яме. С тылной стороны холм выше монастыря , с которого можно забросать его камнями . Странная крепость. Монастырь основал баскак (сборшик дани - пристав) Пафнутий как южный кордон Московской тартарии.
Друзья! Наши Православные Святыни действительно помогают чудесным образом , это уже подтверждено тысячами исцеленных людей в местах силы Православной Церкви. НО !!! Имейте в виду, убрав недуг в здоровье, пожалуйста , меняйте образ жизни, который привел к этому недугу. Узнавайте духовные причины болезни, психосоматику. И после покаяния, не делайте в вашей жизни больше того, что привело к болезни, и не ведите себя как вели до исцеления, и тогда РЕАЛЬНО ваша ДУША будет исцелена Святым Духом и изменится жизнь в лучшую сторону ! Иначе, болезнь может вернуться, если не изменять себя ради Христа, ради Благой Доброй жизни и Любви Божественной! Дай Бог всем Благодати Духа Святого !

А я в семидесятых)
Достопримечательность одну забыли, Это наркопритон между источником и подсобным хозяйством. Там живёт друг детства монастырского эконома Никиты, Лёха по кличке "Расписной". Кликуху Лёха получил из-за большого количества тату, которые он сделал сидя в тюрьме, где провёл 3 четверти своей жизни.
Через монастырь многие проходят: уголовники, наркоманы, зависимые, воры, бандиты... Монастырь является лечебницей для зависимых людей. Я думаю вы не правы
@@uhan1979 , да многие приходят спасаться, трудятся во славу божью. Многим просто податься некуда. Они работают на износ, без выходных. При этом питаются постной пищей, живут по несколько человек в тесных кельях. Расписной живёт в отдельном помещении, ничего не делает, питается продуктами монастыря, включая мясо, пьянствует да ещё требует с монахов, что бы те снабжали его деньгами и сигаретами. Ещё есть племянник эконома, проживающий на прудах, вечно пьяный и агрессивный субьект. Трудника, отправившего СМС настоятелю и в Епархию, с просьбой оградить разобраться с этими людьми, выгнали. Не верите мне, можете проверить сами.

@@uhan1979 , и Вас с Праздником! На подсобном хозяйстве есть монах Сафроний, пастух. Поговорите с ним. Боюсь, что остальные побоятся связываться ибо Лёха мстителен, а эконом его всегда защищает.

"Памятники Ленину у нас не сносят, Слава Богу"- звучит странно... Мне, скорее всего, параллельно на эти монументы , но что пришлось пережить стране из-за этого упыря, Империя рухнула-до сих пор разгребем и, похоже, не разгребём. Поэтому , если снесут воспоминания об этом чудовище, я буду только рада.
к тому же эти памятники никакой ценности не имеют.
