i come here whenever i need a reminder that im still young. its okay to fuck up. its okay to NOT know. as long as im trying my best, thats all that matters.
I used to feel this way too, and then I kind of realized how different the peoples experience was in these movies. like ladybird and perks of being a wallflower and juno and boyhood are not all having the same kind of lives or youths, y'know? but they're all feeling a lot of the same feelings that both of us probably feel too, and I think thats really cool.
I'm 19 turning 20 in 2 weeks, and im grieving everything I didn't have and all the experiences I never got to feel. Before my birthday I'm going to watch a bunch of these movies since I never did when I was younger (or couldn't fully understand the sentiment behind them) and live, love, cry through it with them, so could you tell me all the names of these movies please? Thank you for this wonderful edit :')
@@achzaeni thats for sure! for most people their college experience is one of the most memorable times of their life, but i didnt really get that bc of covid... but im going to live for myself from now on and truly explore the world ^^
I remember watching this edit when i was 15 thinking will i ever feel this and now im turning 19 in a few months. I finally got to experience a dramatic coming of age in my life since, so glad media exists bc i can feel all the emotions i felt for the first time seeing as if no time had passed,
I feel so empty after watching this,i don’t have friends to experience this with,so now I’m crying in the middle of the night. I’m so lonely and I want this to happen 😫😫
Made me cry, honestly, I miss me when I was this young. Full of hope, passion, fearless, but at the same time so freaking scared 😂. I feel like I let myself down, I gotta do better, made me inspired to hope again.
I feel the same thing. I'm disappointed for that, but I've changed and I used to love my older version more than the actual version. Everything is gonna be fine, I hope. 28 y.o. Brazil
this was a beautifully made video, i cried. thank you for including me, earl, and the dying girl which is criminally underrated! i got chills during the transition at 2:02 :') just lovely
I found so depressing that the year before the pandemic and the pandemic stole the light of the young teenage girl I used to be, I was so pretty, fun and excited to live, life was feeling great then it seems like my life started to look sad and full of loss, then the pandemic stole my firsts everythings. my first group of friends, my prom, my first year in college, and now I'm a seventeen year old girl in the body of an adult. I wish I could look back in the archive of my memories and find scenes like this, but i don't, it's empty. sorry for the rant, your edit made me pretty emotional, it was a beauty to watch and supercut is one of my favorite lorde's songs; maybe in an alternate universe I had a great coming of age experience, something that seems and hears like this.
as much as i love coming of age films, they are not real life. i also didn't have a great adventure or a great love story like the ones you see here. but i made this edit because i believe that these movies portray universal feelings and emotions that we all went through, regardless of our experiences. we've all felt lost and confused and jealous and tired and angry and euphoric - maybe even all in the same day. i'm really sad to hear that you missed out on so much because of the pandemic, but i hope you managed to find some beauty in the little things. and trust me when i say that you will have many more opportunities to have fun and make some good memories. your life IS the great adventure, you're already doing great by just being here
i have to say all my feeling when i was 17 in this video. Love, hope, angry, disappointed,.. everything. Thank you so much to remind me that i had a perfect time
The editing in this video is a MASTERPIECE. The way it matches with the music, lyrics, and beat perfectly-chef’s kiss! And love how many different movies are here from different decades!
HOLY F*CK. THIS IS PERFECT. I was listening to this song and I was literally just thinking, “this song would be perfect for a coming of age movies edit” you know, like a SUPERCUT. and then i found this. THIS IS SOOOO GOOD.
This video made me want to live again. Watching it for the millionth time today to remember once again why life is worth cherishing. Thank you Rita for this masterpiece and all your other masterpieces that have meant so much to me these past few years. Hope you have a great 2024.
Being reminded of that LMS scene brought back how stellar of an actor Paul Dano is. It was the first thing I ever saw him in and I've since gone on to be floored by each performance after. Beautiful video. Lorde is untouchable.
Hi y’all, So to anyone who feels like “oh I have missed out on this or that experience” I have learned that this “experiences” thing is somewhat of an illusion. The things teens experience in Vietnam is different than what the ones in Canada experience or the ones in for example Nigeria. Nothing wrong with making memories of course, I encourage you to but please understand WHY you want to make them.
Yep. I will never get to experience this, I'm currently 14 and I've been OBESSED with american coming of age movies, I want to experience this american highschool life like in the movies but sadly I'm asian and Ill have to spend my highschool life in Asia, its so different, all the schools in asia do is studying for 24/7 when i want to skip classes, go out with friends, attend a prom, get in trouble, experience teenage love, go to parties and all but..oh well, I was born in he wrong place
i come here whenever i need a reminder that im still young. its okay to fuck up. its okay to NOT know. as long as im trying my best, thats all that matters.
I hate/love this genre so much because it shows me youths I will never have
