Someone probably already said this, but this album kinda have a double title track. Crossroads was chosen to be the first one, since GFriend's early years comeback always focus heavily on storyline (just like Rough, Fingertip, Time for the Moon Night, and Sunrise who were all has a heavy plot if you follow through), and Crossroads are the suitable song for this story since it is still a continuation and connected to other GFriend's MV. If you notice, there is no choreography/dancing scenes in this MV, since they heavily focused on the story. The 2nd title track is Labyrinth, which is funnily the first track on the album, didn't have an MV, but they promoted it on music show just as much (if not more) than Crossroads. It even have a special clip that look like an MV up there at 1theK channel. I suggest you check out Labyrinth because the vibe of the song is totally different than Crossroads.
As a buddy, I really do appreciate all your videos of reacting to our GODfriend. You guys always clarify your points, why you like the song and why not. It is totally ok to have a different taste. Gfriend has their own style and does not following the trend. That’s exactly why I stand them. Their songs are magical. It doesn’t matter whether is a title track or a b-side. The more you listen to them, the more you will fall in love with them. I also love their lyrics. Every single song of them is so meaningful. Choreography of course - perfect and on point every single time. I strongly recommend you guys to start listening to their b-sides. They are amazing! Labyrinth, You are not alone, Only one, Windy windy, Ave Maria are highly recommended. You might want to listen to the whole Labyrinth album. Every single song in this album is amazing and beautiful. Hope you guys will find more Gfriend songs that make you feel WOW! :)
Personally, I think Crossroads on it's own is better, but with their discography it just doesn't live up to other. I think Gfriend should try going back to their cute for the summer, it feels so long since they've done so and the summer would be the best time to do so. I would love to see them expand on that concept's sound since nobody is doing so now.
I think Somu did an experiment with this comeback. The girls promoted labyrinth as much as they did with crossroads, so I suppose they were testing the waters for the next comeback. I'm not sure if would be a summer comeback though.
They should go with the concept near Navillera for summer. Crossroads is quite fine as well as their discography, tho I just felt that most of it falls near their sound as well - they should branch out more.
