    The video misses a segment on the early game build order. With Burgundians, you want to put 7 on food before you build the Lumber Camp, so that you start piling up food to get Double-Bit Axe. You should be able to get the upgrade as soon as the Lumber Camp is up. Then, you put the 7th food villager on wood as well.

    • @CrnaStrela
      @CrnaStrela ปีที่แล้ว

      Wait, it doesn't starts with wheelbarrow?

    • @forsakenquery
      @forsakenquery ปีที่แล้ว

      Great point. This way you start with a virtual half villager lead and you have paid back the upgrade long before you try to age up.

    • @TheNethertyp
      @TheNethertyp ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@forsakenquery The upgrade nets 4.6 wood per villager per minute. At 3 on wood for about 7 minutes from the time you get the upgrade to hitting Feudal Age, that's about 100 wood, not accounting for the villagers you put on wood after you click up.

    • @TheNethertyp
      @TheNethertyp ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CrnaStrela No, you need the resources for Crop Rotation.

    • @forsakenquery
      @forsakenquery ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheNethertyp so you're basically trading 60 food for 50 wood, since you spend 50 w and get back 100 w but have to spend 60 food also. Not an amazing deal by itself, but if you then drop 9-12 on wood as you click, you will have basically gained a free stable by the time you hit feudal. That seems pretty great, better than cumans bonus at very worst.

    Daut just put up a video "Knights beat pikemen". MBL was trying to build up crossbows while using pikemen to counter knights and going in with the same numbers was not good for the pikemen. Daut also was able to pick his fights leading to the win.

    One thing I want to comment, is to try and save your hand cannons if possible, even if you are planning a tech switch. You never know if you're gonna need the revolution, and a couple of hand cannons sprinkled in with your siege is really powerful. Also, since you lack final archer armor, your militia would act as a great meatshield. So yeah, save your hand cannons

    1) Is tower rush your best option for early pressure? Possibly tower rush + scouts since you can get such a boost in a delayed feudal game by having castle eco techs?
    2) something I've never seen explored is trying to go all-in feudal since every second both you are in feudal you are collecting an advantage by virtue of eco upgrades.

    So yes i was like " fine burgundians hit and run, i did that a lot in high rank world of warcraft arena as a feral druid"
    Little did i know, this fking shit charge is so op it two shots helbs and i castle age i one tap knighta then run back before they fan even attack fully lol

    Also, hwra if you read this, rhis gets a bit nerdy but i would love to see you make something out of it as you have the skill and experience to make it work.
    An early game powerhouse burgundians strat would be very possible. i find it hard to understand the "slow start" statement. Getting double bit axe and chain saw for about 1.5 the price that others pay for it but with 4-6 mins of earlier returns from a discounted double bit axe. If double bit axe pays back in 4-6 mins depends on the number of lumberjacks then it pays even faster for burgundians. And since tou are getting the chainsaw for a discounted price too, you are technically getting paid back before you hit feudal with discounted double bit axe or early feudal and then chain saw puts you as far behind as everyone else but with a much higher eco boost. If we count a 20% wood bonus as a civ bonus since you had it in both dark and feudal and you paid for both as everyone else paid for one" again fuz double bit axe been paying off for a while"
    Then with 20% wood bonus you should actually be ready to go 1 extra archery range above what anyone else is doing, so 3 for 2 , 2 for 1.. etc etc. Ofc all of that appliss to the discounted gold tech as it also should pay back fast.
    We can easily calculate it too. Burgundians gold tech is about 140 rss, 67 for food and 75 wood. The gold gathering rate goes up by 3.4 per min per villager, and you need 4 for archer rushes generally. If you have 4 vils on gold for 8 mins on get 3.4 x 4"vils" per extra gold per min. Which adds up to 13.6 gold per min so in 8 mins "considering you got it in yout way up to feudal" you got about 13.6 x 8 = 116.8 gold around the time you've started hitting. Considering the VERY SLOW food collection rate, then you effectively collected more even.
    So in other worda a discounted gold tech can almost pay back filly early to mid feudal age with 4 vils on gold.
    Now our wood is boosted by 20% to begin with, and our gold by 15% which means if we commit 1 more on gold to begin with and 1 -2 more on wood we can easily manage 1 archery range spam or an alternative of 2 archers archery ranges and 1 skirms.
    Now all of that, if you manage to take a few losses but jail both your self and the enemy in feudal age, eventually your tech bonuses would've paid back twice as much and now you are playing a game of powerhouse feudal. So there is no civ that can compete with an eco so powerful, enough to collect 20% extra wood, 15% extra gold which would've slowly crypt into unlocking the next gold and even the second farms upgradss as well ad other things.
    All of that ofc is hard to do without skill as the ability to force a feudal all out war would be harder for average players compared to pros.
    I can admit one thing though, the omly hard rush would be Drush.
    But i would not mind towering up for the vills on wood.

    I am missing the recorded playbacks on the civ you highlighted. Only been subbed to you for a month or so. Been subbed to spirit for 3 years. Could you spin a co-vid IE 2nd channel on your excellent game play as you release a civ how to play?
    Slowly working thru your back catalogue as TH-cam suggest you. I HATE live games, why I don't use twitch. But your considered game play ie comments on a game you put out a year ago really helps with my games. Theory and demonstrate from one source.
    Will never get to top level play, not enough time and practice. But those theory and show videos have got me 200 Elo advance in last quarter to just above 1k.

    • @88porpoise
      @88porpoise ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Probably pretty similar depending on opponent and play-style.
      Burgundians are better with their power spikes and faster economy allowing them to cripple their opponent by early in Imperial.
      But if you get to an end game death ball stage without taking much damage I will take the mass Houfnice.

    • @forsakenquery
      @forsakenquery ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Vineyard is good when you are entering a protracted trash war and you have insane farm numbers (40+). Before this point you can't justify the food expenditure on a tech with a terrible payoff. However, unlike the Vietnamese wood to gold tech, vineyards does actually pay off well in post imp low gold. You are getting 1-3 extra relics of gold, which is huge. I can't think of a scenario where you get this in castle age however.

    • @plain6677
      @plain6677 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@forsakenquery Thank you for your reply, I understand it better now. Those post-imp fights when you have 40+ secured farms are quite rare in 1v1 open map. Maybe it’s more useful in closed map and in 3v3 if trade is hard to get. Very situational indeed.
