[Shortcut] Make a 4x4 matrix or any custom size matrix in Word | Create 4x4 or large Matrix in Word

Ms Word shortcut to make 4x4 matrix is \matrix(@@@&&&). Using this Math Autocorrect shortcut for Matrix, you can quickly add a custom size matrix or create an NxN matrix in Word.
Number of rows and columns in matrix is given by number of @ and &.
► No. of @ = Number of rows -1 and
► No. of & = Number of columns - 1
So to make a 5x5 matrix in Word use \matrix(@@@@&&&&). This equation editor shortcut can make a big or large matrix in Word.

I mean when we apply more than one at a time operations on matrix and write on the right side like (2R1+R3), (R3+3R1), (R4+1/2R1) etc.. How to write it in word or mathtype. We can write in a same bracket but it couldn't write in bracket in exam. Can you explain how to write it

The second method just won't work on my office 365. The \matrix does convert into a black square as shown in the video, but the (@@@&&&) just won't get converted. by the way I am out of compatibility mode

pressing shift + enter works for me (at least for adding rows) but I still haven't figured out how to add columns.
edit: doing it like in LaTeX works perfectly for me. I tried alt + enter then entered [\begin{matrix} 1 & 2 & 3 \\ 4 & 5 & 6 \end{matrix}] and it works
