We are being groomed to be satisfied with less and foreign aid is definitely not where the money is going. Green initiatives toward net zero are going to cost something like $100T and there is NO way to achieve such a ridiculous goal without a significant reduction in lifestyle. Combine that with the huge portion of expenditures which goes to entitlements and it’s a recipe for destroying the country economically and killing the futures of our children and grandchildren. Democrats cannot be persuaded to put a stop to earmarks which are actually unconstitutional, cost billions and are nothing more than individual pet projects of Senators or Congressman with the power to get them passed. Nor will they buy into even a tiny couple of percentage points reduction of entitlement spending over ten years which might make a start at putting a dent in the national debt. The vast majority of the budget is entitlements and craven politicians won’t touch that subject because economically illiterate voters dissolve into howling fury at mention of any suggestion of cuts. From welfare programs, food stamps, Social Security and on and on and on, THAT is where the money goes, like water through a sucking drain. There is going to have to be a politician or three willing to tell some hard truths and be honest about the realities. The few who do right now are just howling in the wind because no one is listening.
