Since I have travelled half around the world in a Klim Carlsbad, I’m a big fan of Klim. Thanks for this review, that’s exactly what I’m looking for my next riding season. Great, thank you so much! 👍
For fear of repeating myself just the review I wanted/needed, am looking seriously into doing a tour of Morocco in autumn 2025 and need the right gear for the trip and as always Tony I think you have answered my question re trousers on the bike. I do like the “road tests” you do on biking gear, not so many of your contemporaries do this but it is just as important as the bike, you need the right gear to enjoy the trips and feel comfortable. Cheers mate another good review. 👍
I have the same and agree with all your points, although, for me I also found that they lacked a little bit of stretch compared to my usual riding pants. I wear armored shorts and knee guards under and discarded the ghost armour. I think for light adventure riding or road touring they sure fit the bill.
Recent convert to Klim, so far very impressed, started after buying the superb Zephyr wind cheater under a summer jacket. Looking to add the Marrakesh jacket for next year as I now prefer layering rather than heavy laminated suits. These pants would be a good match though I do like my Roadskin jeans.
I have a pair of these and they are great. I tossed those gimmicky D30 things and wear the pants over Bohn Body Armor “panty hose” that are CE Level 2 and provide much more coverage.
I wear US size 34 pants in Klim Carlsbad, Marrakesh, Induction and K Fifty 2 jeans. But I find the Klim Cargo pants fit tighter in the waist than I like and compared to the others. But I assume size 36 (since they do not have size 35) would be too loose.
I used to argue the Chinese made issue but went to sports bike shop and ended up with the full Rukka kalix 2.0 suit best gear I’ve owned should be good in summer and easily fits a mid layer for winter 6 year warranty well made I take back my previous comments on this type of gear 😂 did try on a klim suit and it just wasn’t comfortable for me though
Hello Tony, I own a pair and agree your review. But my armour is the wrong way round based on what you’ve said…😮. I’ve worn them down to 10 degrees but find them too warm in the mid 20s. They are super practical with all the pockets. 20% off at Motolegends this weekend 😂
These look cool, not enough lightweight gear with cargo pockets for trail riding. Any idea if they’ll be ok in the boot, can’t find any info on klim’s website, but I’m guessing not. Also I’d want to wear my own knee pads, do you reckon they were baggy enough for separate knee pads? Perhaps the MM Woodsman might be a better option. Thanks for the review - regards, Mike
Hi Mike, Given the press studs at the bottom they may not be comfortable inside a boot. yes theres a fair amount of room in the knee, I've worn them with Rev'it knee guards
Take out pads an put in a bath of Warm water a tent waterproof fluid, leave overnight. Morning hangout to drip dry. “ Don’t dry in machine”. An this will give petty good waterproofing. Simples. ❤❤❤🥃🥃👍👍🙏🙏🇬🇧🇬🇧⛄️⛄️🎅🎅🎄🎄🏍️🏍️
Great pants but like with ALL Klim pants, if you're a tall big guy, you're out of luck with Klim. Always strange since their jackets (I own 3) accommodate tall big guys but pants max at 38" waist with a 34" inseam. Klim believes that you can be tall and thin or short and fat but not tall and big. What a shame.
Those knee pads only provide a false sense of security. They’ll do nothing if you come off. The knee pads have to be close to the skin and curved around the joint they’re protecting.
Yes, this worries me about all casual and textile trousers. The armour has to stay in place yet the loose fit means it has ample opportunity to rotate away from an impacted area. I'm thinking of reverting back to less comfortable leathers for that reason.

No problem!

Thanks Robin
Klim make some great products, I wear my Marrakesh jacket all the time. Merry Christmas.
I like the look of these, Tony. 320 GBP isn't that bad. I thought you were going to say around 400. Excellent review.

Vaguely remember 'our Chris' recommending ghost armour to be worn orange side out as most photos show. Never made sense to me but could be wrong!
@@domster200 not according to D3O

@ thank, appreciate it 👍
Hows the space in the knees if you use knee braces?
Quite roomy
It's good kit. Klim usually is.
But just a bit too exy for my pocket.
Ride safe 👍

Love Klim stuff, but for this one the unadjustable waist is a deal breaker...
I wear a belt with them
Looks good but too rich for my pocket
Looks great, but not at that price.
