So Bongo has arrived just in time to spot the new 68's. I don't know how many times I saw the locos but I saw Bongo 4 times. Well done Kevin. Looking forward to more. David.
Very Nice to see a Dapol DRS Class 68 on the Northern Charter, but you might want to be aware that this train is usually top and tailed 68s, or indeed 57s, keep up great work and I look forward to seeing some more progress
They are so good you bought two Kevin and I don't blame you, they are a lovely looking loco which I never thought I would say when I started this model railway malarky a couple of years back but I'm really starting to like the look of these modern locos now. ............Graham
Hi Kevin ..think I must be one of the few not bought one of these 68`s ..they do look good but pity about the odd faults ...good to see bongo on the tours again ..4 times he appeared ? ..Dave
I remember the day I met you at SVR we saw one of these in this livery. Interesting about the livery - yes mine's the same on one side. Nice to see Bongo again - I had forgotten where he was lol. Laurie.
Hi Kevin those class 68s looked brilliant going around your layout they really are a great looking loco, I bought intrepid but I haven't taken mine out of the box yet it might be a while as I'm still laying track cheers Jack
Nice Loco's , look great running on the Penwithers and what's cousin doing over there , in suppose to be in Tasmania cutting down trees !!! lol Cheers Glynn
Warskips !! Indeed a very apt nickname for these machines. With their teutonic heritage and bulbous frontage its looks like a V200 /Warship 21st Century re-work . Nice job , Vossloh / Dapol........ Im deeply entrenched in the1960's green era diesel models but I might just go "over the top" and get one of these !!
I usually don't like modern locomotives that much (Aside high speed trains, because they remind me of aircraft and those monorails from Thunderbirds), but the lines on the class 68 are just amazing. Such an odd shape, but it looks very good, especially in that livery.
Hello there. I have 68 005 Defiant and discovered via Facebook that Dapol's spare people, DCC Supplies Ltd of Holt Heath, Worcestershire are stocking replacement new DRS Class 68 bodies for exchange of the original run of wrongly tampo printed examples. £4.50 per body if you want to replace. Nameplates you fit.
Great video Kevin.I've just been watching a cab ride on penwithers,i absolutely love your layout.I have two questions for you.1 When did start to build the layout in the basement? and 2 How do you get to all the wide parts to do repairs and do the diorama? cheers David
The 68 just looks the part on your layout BONGO on both passenger BONGO and freight duties BONGO , bet it won't be long before BONGO you have sound put into it .........Peter
Nice locos Kevin. I do like the DRS livery but it is several decades too modern for my layouts LOL. Shame about the decals, as you say it looks like a serious quality blunder at Dapol. Should we be expecting better considering the prices charged today? I understand that a statement is due soon but it would seem that the only fix is a new bodyshell..............John
She is a very good looking loco but I don't think a manufacture should have let it out the door with a bad paint job. I know they let minor things go but that is not minor. I don't think they would get away with it on this side of the pond.
Scott Downey hi Scott no it is a big mistake don't know what happened with the quality control department must of had the afternoon off,but that aside it is a superb loco cheers Kevin

RockyRailroad Productions it is a thing of beauty
I'm not a fan of many of the modern liveries at all, but these 68 thingamabobs really do look stunning in those colours - clean or mucky!
