Always informative, upbeat, insightful and fully transparent and balanced with weaknesses as well…overall this bike looks like a well thought out and designed winner!
Great looking bike, and you got to love Ari for the flexibility when purchasing. I wanted to love the Timp Peak but without the Shimano it wasn't a strong draw. I'm the demographic of looking to add a mid-power to my garage. Sold a first gen H-Rise as it was an XL, and I wanted to downsize so it would be more playful. This looks like it checks all the boxes. Thanks for the review.
Yesss, you are perfect. I still own my H-Rise but don't ride it much anymore. Great power and range but it's kinda XC. This one is more capable and playful and it's dead quiet up and down. Better geometry and fit too. You can prolly fit a 240mm dropper or more.
My next big bike purchase will likely be a mid power lightweight e-mtb. I rode an Orbea Rise and loved how it felt like a normal bike, this new (fezz)ARI looks to topple the Rise from the top of my list.....looks great!
I'm digging the components that Ari outfits their bikes with. I was leaning towards their Timp Peak but was leery of the 170 travel and weight. Nebo Peak might be the ticket, I do want the playfulness and lightweight so I am bummed the mullet doesn't have a shorter chain stay option.
That's what what Fazua told everyone last year. Latest word from Fazua is... Dec 2024. They are completely unreliable with their dates for this extender.
@@EMTBReview That’s good to know. Without a removable battery the range extender is a big deal. I’m also liking the new NORCO Fluid VLT with Bosch SX and removable battery but no extender. The Cube One44 SX is perfect with extender but their production is availability is way behind. With an extender the Nebo looks nice.
Yes, I didn't suspect they would change it at this point. But, I think they have some cash reserves and an eye on the next level for the company. Onward and upward and this was a key step.
In the press release video the CEO said “Ari” means “To Be” (in the moment) and they talked about the public testing they do and the old name was holding them back. I like the simpler name. The CEO had an awesome quote about it “We’re always looking to go to a higher mountain”
Yes. It's very fast uphill, but it's not as capable downhill. It's more a trail/xc bike with 130mm travel that is on the aggressive/supportive side. Shootout here: th-cam.com/video/2S-kQ_7AWVY/w-d-xo.html
@@andymtb3212 putting a 275 wheel drops the BB 19mm. I don’t think adding 10mm more fork will raise it that much. Even with a stock yeti sb130, I was already hitting the BB on rocks
Had me until the non-removable battery. I charge my battery inside my van on road trips between stops with the bike on the rack on the back. I also have an extra battery that I swap out when making laps at a ride up yourself bike park. Nice to leave the 2nd battery charging while you're riding with the first battery.
Breeze (eco) has surprisingly good torque and makes the bike feel very light, River (trail) feels like full a full power bike in eco mode, Rocket (boost) feels like a full power bike in trail mode. There's also a 4th mode that I call "Ludicrous". To access ludicrous mode, you hold the control ring up for 2 seconds and it gives you 8 seconds even more power.

Awesome work Chap

This bike will do better when you ride it, send it and shred it.
I was hoping Fezzari was going to release a lightweight e-bike, looks like they knocked it out of the park! Well done Francis and Ari.
It definitely surprised me as well.

@@EMTBReview would love to see comparison, Levo SL, Heckler SL, Shuttle SL, Relay, and the Nebo. 🤓

I always thought the Fezzari name was a little weird but quickly got over it. Nice bikes.
Same. I was over it but I recognized that some of my enthusiast were hung up on the name and push them to not own one.
another ...best review ... looking forward to climb numbers ... Giant your missing out this guy is the best
Climb test coming up. A little muddy right now on the Norcal trail so couldn't quite get a valid run.
I love your reviews! Mega informative and good vibe 👍👍
If you learn something and smile, then my video done it's job.

Hey Francis, Great video! Any updates on comparisons against the Heckler SL and Levo SL?
Looking forward a more on depth review
Coming this week!
@@EMTBReview when’s that dropping?
That looks pretty awesome. Wonder if there is a way to bump up travel in the rear. I might contact them.
Hi Francis, did you get any time / battery usage on the Ari compared to the shootout?
I know the Timp Peak is more of their enduro bike. However, would you say that this Nebo can handle some of that enduro stuff?
can confirm! Especially if you upgrade the travel to 160 in the front
I wouldn’t even consider the big and because of the name, now…..I’d consider it
Ari told me a range extender is coming this Summer.
That's what what Fazua told everyone last year. Latest word from Fazua is... Dec 2024. They are completely unreliable with their dates for this extender.

Where in Santa Cruz where you riding?
That’s pretty wild they just changed their brand name considering the size of the company, fezzari was an interesting name

Wish they sold bikes in Australia
Have you ridden the Pivot Shuttle SL? And if so how would you compare it to the ARI?
Yes. It's very fast uphill, but it's not as capable downhill. It's more a trail/xc bike with 130mm travel that is on the aggressive/supportive side.

Will this be available as a frameset ? They're past offering was so I Hope so!
Yes
How can this be an MX? Putting a smaller wheel will lower the BB too much.
If I went mullet I would bump up the air spring to 160mm to correct bb height. The head angle would be slacker which I also see as a positive.
@@andymtb3212 putting a 275 wheel drops the BB 19mm. I don’t think adding 10mm more fork will raise it that much. Even with a stock yeti sb130, I was already hitting the BB on rocks
It has a flip chip to preserve BB height with MX setups.
@@jack91522 I should have added that when I did this I also shortened the cranks to 160mm and ran the largest volume rear tire that I could.

Correct. Your use case definitely warrants removable battery.
Or 2 extenders
What are the differences with motor categories mid/full/etc?

Fazua should drop the “Faz” from their name too. Then the name will match the “uuuuu aaaaah” sounds made while riding 😜
Is the 42lb weight shown with or without pedals?
I saw a pedal in the crank. Also he switched to a heavier tire
Correct. This has 300 gram flat pedals.
Crank length?
165
They should've just gone w "Ferari"
"Ari" still sounds weird and kinda lame. Swing and a miss.
Disagree. No range extender. Lame ring controller. Non removable battery. Weak.
