    Jeff Ward is the Man. I have a 1999 KX500 in the same graphics that he had on his 1998 kx500 in supercross.

    Ok I forgot Jeff Ward did win SX also. He was Super Moto National Champ also. He was 3place at The Indy 500 in 1997.
    I remember JMB he was the first rider from France that kicked ass back in the USA. He had the stones to come over
    here and ride with the Americans for the hole motocross series and win. He was a great Champion.

    Technical and bumpy. If riders today had to race this track, many of them would be crying like 6 year old Girl Scouts camping in a thunder storm, and I think it used to be tougher.

      No kiddin'... today's tracks look like dirt freeways, by comparison.

      @@DS-oi4wlI hate to be the bearer of bad news but you both are so wrong. The tracks these days are far more challenging in jumps , ruts bumps and roughness. Unadilla used to be a grass loam track in practice and pretty much only raced on twice a year and left rough till the next event that would have regrown grass on it cut to maybe 3 or 4 inches but now the make huge man made supercross style jumps and dig up the base between a foot to 18 inches which turns into deep arcing ruts in the turns and faces / landings on the jumps with acceleration and braking bumps everywhere. The bikes and modern riders have brought the sport to a higher level and the tracks as well. They just make it look easy and bikes are so much faster in lap times . -TV doesnt do it justice. Have u been to a national lately or ridden on a,pro track the day after they race? It isnt easier then it used to be and that is a fact.

      Posting "It was so much tougher back in my day" under every old motocross video is such boomer bullshit. I was at 'Dilla in '91, and just about every year thru '23. Today's tracks get so ripped up by the 4 strokes digging knee-deep ruts everywhere, I have no idea how these kids ride 'em at the warp speeds they do.

    6:52 Guy Cooper. "So many riders here. There are over 100 riders in each class."
    Remember that. Lets compare that number to Unadilla 2022.

    • @ba946x4
      @ba946x4 ปีที่แล้ว

      There’s only 40 riders on the starting gate per class, so there’s about 80 riders.

      @@ba946x4 huh?thats main event numbers..thats not counting thr guys who qualify raced

    • @stkyfngrszmooth

      You're right. Back in the day there were well over 100 riders trying to qualify for each class back in the early 80's. Now they're lucky to have enough to fill all the gate spots these days. Look at what's happened to the World GP's.

    • @EarthSurferUSA
      @EarthSurferUSA ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@stkyfngrszmooth Yep. I have counted 15 guys on a 40 rider MXGP gate in 2022 and frequently about half full for 2022.
      Yet,---we let the FIM run our racing.

    Jeff Ward won a total 7 National Championship's.

    • @EarthSurferUSA
      @EarthSurferUSA 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think 5 national championships and 2 SX championships. They count both for all the national bike sizes and the 250 SX.

  • @blakepartridge1508

    Jeff Ward is the Man. Jeff Ward did the same thing 125,250,500 National Champ.

    • @bagargui
      @bagargui 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      JMB is the man, SX, 250MX and 500MX in just one season. No other rider ever did that…

    • @EarthSurferUSA
      @EarthSurferUSA 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@bagargui True, and he earned it. But it would have been more interesting if the outdoors were a full 12 races for each bike. That was a weird format where the 250's were 6 and the 500's 6 races. I wish Bayle would have stayed here and raced longer, and become a citizen.

      I count JW or JMB as the real greatest of all time. I dont count anyone whose majority of wins came on point n shoot fart strokes.
