... This actually puts the Steven Universe Pink Diamond a whole knew level of understanding as to why she is so small compared to the other Diamonds. I actually didn't know that Pink Diamonds are that small in rl, but honestly? It makes the Crewivurse's understanding of gems that more impressive.
Pink diamonds are not the rarest. Of the natural color diamonds nearly 16% are pink and red diamonds.
I am so lucky to have 3 pinks. This video makes me treasure them even more ❤️.
😭😭😭 one for each, even though the other two are already closed. Funny how each one of the mines were known for Pink, Yellow, and Blue diamonds. Printer inks would be proud. 😭😭 two more for the yellow diamonds i don’t usually care for diamonds but their spectacular color varieties really are something to see and yellows are my favorite.

I like the champagne diamonds from the Argyle Mine. Natalie you are a such natural winer. It’s awesome how you do that so well. I’ll miss the mine also as you do. I bought some champagne diamond years ago from one of Jtv’s Mandy Champagne gemstone shows. Good clarity & love all the different color flashes that spark out from within the gem.
Same here. I've wanted one since they found the mine in the 80's. Now that I'm an old fart I was able to buy two stones in Perth and have rings made. I prefer the mid range C4/5 colours. So warm and so sparkly.
The champagne and brown tones are stunning to me. I love the rich boozy colored gems lately.

I saw a pink diamond on producer michael's channel; it was 25 karats, from the Jacob & Co store and it was about the size of the stone the lady in the blue shirt has in her ring. The price was pretty cheap for what it was; only 6 million, though if it had been a finer quality flawless gem it would be about 25 million USD :)
Would you happen to know a ballpark figure for pink diamonds that are SI2, Fancy Pink with no overtones? A price per carat? I'm writing a novel with pink diamonds and I'm trying to get my info believable. Thank you!

I also own pink diamonds but most of them are a heart shaped cut. My diamonds are all either pink or white no other colors. Pink is also my favorite color in general so that’s why my diamonds are pink.

Yes Pink Diamonds are also found in Canada, Brazil, Russia, South Africa, Tanzania. But the worlds largest commercial source for Pink Diamonds is from the Argyle mine in Australia.

Great question, Desiree! The reason the Argyle Mine is closing is that it has reached the end of its "economic viability". Basically, they aren't finding enough diamonds anymore to make a profit after they cover the cost of mining super deep into the earth's crust. Thanks so much for watching!

According to my Google deep dive it's because the mines are drying up and the company Lost the ecological rights from the government. Also these mines are located at native Aboriginal sacred sites but the government ruled they didn't own the mineral rights just the land above them. .

The real tragedy is not the mine closing, its the reason why its closing. The human beings who are being abused by these mining companies to extract these diamonds that you come here and talk about are DYING and SICK. These mine are not viable for the workers and that is why its closed under « contaminated ». I hate how insensitive you guys are toward this. You’re acting as if these diamonds are more important than the lives that are being negatively affected by this.

Consider, though, the beauty of your favorite crystals in matrix, or the joy of many gems in a fabulous piece of jewelry.
The vast majority of people will get more out of an entire collection of wonderful gemstones, rather than one of these.
Don't buy into the hype.
